Sakura jumped quickly through the rubble where the medic tents used to stand as she searched for survivors. Every discarded body she came across was smashed into unrecognizable pieces, and she struggled to squish the bile rising in her throat. When she saw a pile that resembled her Kohai from the hospital, Sakura summoned Katsuyu.
"Sakura?"
"Katsuyu-sama, are you connected with Naruto?"
"Yes, Naruto and Kakashi are in the middle of fighting Uchiha Madara, but I'm not certain as to who the fourth chakra signature belongs to."
Sakura started to panic, "Tell Naruto I'm on my way, and not do something reckless."
Despite the situation, Katsuyu spared a tiny smile, "Of course, Sakura."
As Katsuyu disappeared from sight, Sakura closed her eyes for a moment in search of Naruto's chakra in the direction Katsuyu had directed her, but when she found it, she froze. A viscous aura held Naruto up above the ground, and Kakashi's signiture was no where to be found. Neither was the mysterious fourth chakra.
Disregarding that she had less than half her chakra reserves, Sakura teleported to Naruto in hopes of saving him.
The moment her vision cleared, Sakura saw Madare holding a limp Naruto and lunged towards him. As she aimed her chakra enhanced fist at the ground, praying she would be able to land a hit somehow. But as the ground raised from the shock, Madara's body transformed and he dropped Naruto's solid form on the ground. Sakura sprinted towards Naruto, and once he was safely in her grasp, she moved towards Kakashi. Reaching back into her weapons pouch on her hip, Sakura pulled out a scroll and hastily tore it open.
"Wake up, I need you to listen to me! Naruto!" She placed a glowing hand over Naruto's chest, and sent a joltchakra into his system.
He quickly pulled himself into a sitting position, "Sakura?" Naruto groaned.
"Listen, I'm using the scroll, I need you to hold on to Kakashi so that we don't get separated, can you do that?" Her mind was working a mile a second. She didn't want to waste any time in case Madara came back.
"Yeah, I thi-," before Naruto could finish his sentence Madara appeared behind Sakura before she could finish the last of the hand seals and as she jumped to dodge his katana, Sakura's vision started to fade, and the images around her started to shift.
"SAKURA!"
As she instinctively turned to Naruto's call, Madara shoved his katana through her gut.
Madara sneered, "you know, I had hoped for better, but it seems the leaf's shinobi have lost their touch." As he twisted the sword in her gut and flickered away, Sakura reached for Naruto, only to find he had disappeared. In fact, when she looked up, she saw the swaying of tall verdant trees before she blacked out.
The moment Sakura started to gain consciousness, she could smell bleach and sterilization, and inwardly cheered. The only way she was in the hospital was if Naruto managed to win. In her excitement, she had forgotten about her confrontation with Madara.
As she hurriedly tried to sit up, she felt a searing pain from her abdomen, extending all through her body. Leaning over the side of the bed, she grabbed the trashcan within reach and threw up. Feeling it strange that she would be in such agony after a healing session, Sakura lifted her hospital shirt to inspect her pounding wound, and observed that she had only been stitched up.
Turning her head to the left side or her room, Sakura saw a window and sleepily noted that by the looks of it, it was either morning or evening. She decided that she was not going to sit in bed all day when she would be needed for repairs. But even though her mind was maid up, she couldn't get her body to obey her and move from the bed. As she blearily looked to the other side of the room, she found a patch of blonde. Sighing with relief she opened her mouth, "Naruto," she slurred, "what happened?"
"Who's Naruto?" What was going on? Realizing that her head was not becoming clear, she realized that she might have been drugged. The Katana. It must have been poisoned.
Still confused and in pain, Sakura tried to refocus on 'Naruto' as he flipped the light switch, highlighting the long blonde locks and sturdy physique. He looked somewhat familiar. However, she did not see the whiskered scars. Sakura started to panic.
"Who are you?" Deep breath, "where is Naruto?" He just stared at her, and Sakura's breathing quickened. "And Kakashi? Is he alright"She hadn't had time to assess his injures in the field, or even see if his heart was still beating. Realizing that she was at the mercy of this unknown stranger, Sakura kept a calm visage, but she could feel her heart rate speed up, and in turn she started to hyperventilate. As her face started to become blue from the lack of oxygen, the unnamed person decided to introduce himself.
"I'm Namikaze Minato."
Staring at him, Sakura did the only logical thing she could think of, she fainted.
