Alanna's wedding dress
After their wedding reception Alanna and George are relaxing with close friends and family.
Alanna groaned and collapsed onto the sofa next to George;
"I'm never getting married again! I only wanted a small private little affair wit close friends and family not the bloody crème de la crème of Tortallan society!"
George grinned down at his bride;
"I should hope you're not getting married again … I ain't plannin' on going anywhere. An' darlin' with our friends and family they're the same thing!"
Alanna rolled her eyes and sighed loudly.
Thayet smiled over at her friend;
"It was a lovely ceremony though and loads of people were commenting on your dress – particularly the unusual embroidery."
Alanna grinned wickedly over at the Queen seated next to her husband.
"It's a good thing they didn't look too closely"
"I dread to ask" said Gary rolling his eyes drolly and smiling amusedly over at his small friend.
Thayet raised one eyebrow elegantly, ignoring Gary;
"Why, what's wrong with the embroidery?"
Alanna snorted and leant forward gathering up the hem of her gown in one hand;
"There's nothing wrong with the embroidery but I don't think they would have appreciated the pattern!"
Pointing to the outline designs embroidered on the hem in gold Alanna intoned: "Shield, sword, horse, shield, sword, horse … all the essentials of knightly life."
Thayet groaned.
"What's the embroidery up the front?" asked the king leaning forward.
"I don't want to know!" Thayet groaned putting a hand over her eyes. Everyone else leaned forward intrigued as Alanna got to her feet.
"Well it's a …" Alanna grinned and spread her skirt so they could see, "Lioness Rampant!"
The assembled company burst out laughing even Thayet.
George wiped his eyes and shook his head smiling, "Tha's my lass!"
Alanna curtsied and grinned round at her laughing nearest and dearest. "Well I couldn't be conventional now could I?!"
