The First Event
Quatre Winner was sitting quietly in the classroom. The teacher was discussing various
math problems and he just couldn't keep his eyes open. This class was really boring today. He
felt a small piece of dust enter his eye. He raised his hand to clear it out. He rubbed his
eyes and as his vision cleared up, he realizes that everyone has turned into soda crackers with
those googly eyes that move around when you shake 'em. Each of the crackers was wobbling to
and fro to make the pupils go around and around in different directions. Quatre looked from one
cracker to the next, stupified. He raced out of the room to find that all the students,
teachers, and janitors have been transformed the same. He rushed out the door to find a rusted
shovel strapped to a tree. He ripped the shovel off the tree and felt a strange and sudden urge
to dig. He dug and dug, seemingly for an eternity. He eventually came upon a cavern lit well
for a cave about a half a mile underground. He dropped down and looked for some type of food,
for he had not eaten in some time. He missed lunch, for christ's sake! Anyway, he walks for
another kinda eternity, and starts to hear chanting and sees a more powerful light from up
ahead. He goes to examine and sees fifty or so mole-like people. they are singing and chanting
around a beaver tied to a cross being crusified. Quatre feels a sudden rush of bravery and
charges in, screaming, weilding the shovel above his head and downs the moles one by one. In a
flurry of panic the moles run around crazily. The beaver begins to glow a satin white and
uproot itself. He then flies up and out of the hole created be Quatre earlier, who is still
slaughtering the mole people in great haste. After he is finished off the last mole, he stands
in the middle of all the blood and bodies, and holds the shovel in the air. He starts to glow
like the beaver did before. After the glow subsides, he is fitted in silver plate mail, and
the shovel glows a holy gold. Quatre notices that he feels much better in the terms of hunger
and thirst. He jumps in the air and flies like a bullet upward. He pops out of the ground to
see that the entire city has been invaded by the mole people. In his new attire, he rushes off
to destroy them all.
In the middle of the fighting, Quatre awakens. He sits up quickly and looks around his
room to see of any difference. There is none. He looks for the Silver Plate or shovel. Not to
be found. Confused, Quatre decides that he should just get a glass of water. He walks out into
his bathroom and splashes his face with cold water. Dazed, he walks back to his room and falls
back into dreamland.
