Promise of Return to Konoha

(FLASHBACK)

It was the night before Neji had to go on an A-Rank mission. He would approximately go for about 2 months. He sighed. He would miss his wife Sakura and his son Hideki, who only happened to be 3 months old. Sakura hated how he would go on long missions. Hell, she couldn't even stand him going for a week at the most. But as usual, all he said was: "It's my duty to protect Konoha, and you and Hideki" These words made her go soft on him. Still, he would miss her, and he would miss him.

Neji laid in bed, next to Sakura, and thought about these things. He looked at the clock. 4Am. Still 2 more hours. Sakura looked so peaceful when she was sleeping. While looking at the serene smile on her perfect pink lips, he fell asleep.

The next morning came to quick. He looked around for Sakura, but it seemed like she had already woken up. He found her in the kitchen making breakfast. He came over and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her swan-like neck. She giggled fondly. "That tickles Neji-kun" she whispered. "Geez, we're married Sakura, just call me Neji." He said into her neck. "No" was her short reply. "I like calling you Neji!" She half-said, half-laughed. He gave a short laugh and swung her around.

"Go wake up Hideki" she ordered. "Hai" was his short answer. Breakfast was filled with laughing at the baby gurgling and half swallowing the food. "Ok, I got to go to the Hokage Monument to meet up with the rest of the team. OK?' he said. "OK Neji" as he kissed her on the cheek. "Be careful, OK?" she said with a hint of worry in her eyes. "I promise I'll return to Konoha Sakura. OK? I promise" he said as he kissed her one more time. He kissed Hideki on the nose and set off.

Sakura was standing at the K.I.A monument. Engraved on it was Neji Hyuuga. She felt a tear come to her eye. "You promised you'd come back." She whispered into the air. "I miss you Neji. I really do. Hideki and I need you. You know that? We both love you." She said, this time a little bit louder. She was crying now. "But Neji, I promise this thing, one day, I'll be with you up there. I promise. And, and I'll keep that promise" she cried out.

The next week, Sakura's name was engraved on the K.I.A monument. Her promise was kept.

Geez…That was depressing…. I hate my self now…
