Change for the Better
It was said and done. Dai Shi was defeated by the Jungle Fury Rangers, as well as myself and Camille. Now, what?
Several weeks had passed since then. We all retorted back to our normal lives, but still reminiscent about that day. Again, I retorted back to my life. Though, this time, it was different. Very different.
I was no longer the mean spirited bully everyone knew. My inner vessel's fight against good and evil was no longer in me, but she saved me. That she was Camille. The girl that saved me from it all.
I started my life a little different than usual. Casey, who now is my Master and teacher, taught me to live life to its full expectations and there was always room for a second chance.
Camille stood beside me as we took our first beginner's class together. After all, she was there beside me, especially during that battle with my inner self. She had learned from Lily, the former yellow Jungle Fury Ranger that there is good in all people. She warmly smiled at me as we took the kata together.
"Aren't you two old to join a beginner's class," a little voice piped up as he looked over Camille and I. The two of us laughed a little. "Well, aren't you?" I shook my head a little as I looked at the boy.
The little boy reminded me of my inner self, but Camille had always assured me that I wasn't evil no more. That day is still vivid, but I still recall many days of Dai Shi.
Though, he was gone. The mean spirited vessel was gone - for good.
Later that day, Camille and I sat at the temple. Talking as friends should, more so just taking in our new found lives. She reached over my hand as she once did at Dai Shi's temple.
"There's something about you Jarrod that I've always admired and loved," she softly spoke as she rubbed my hand gently. "That there's a caring lion that has a heart."
"I always had one, but it was difficult," I replied back in a half smile. I clenched her hand tightly as I looked at her. "You're not half bad as a reptile." I teased as I squeezed her hand again.
Camille laughed, "You're not as bad either - lion man." she chuckled as she watched some students walk by.
They say its never too late to start over. Whomever said that, its true. Its never late than never to give life a better chance.
