Jealousy
He had absolutely no reason to feel this way.
Sure, they were happy.
Sure, he sometimes wished he had that sort of relationship with someone.
Sure, he had never felt anything remotely like what they must feel for each other.
He was staring at an old issue of the Daily Prophet. If Draco calculated the date right, it was about two months old but he didn't really care. He had just found it sitting in a magazine rack in the rarely used second floor toilet of his parent's manor and the front page had immediately caught his eye.
"Heroes to Wed"
It was a long and dreary article about the Weasel and his pet Mudblood getting engaged during some Chudley Cannons Quidditch match.
And for some reason, it didn't quite sit right with Draco. He felt, for lack of a better word, jealous.
He just couldn't pinpoint why.
Draco stood, flushed the toilet and headed for the basin to wash his hands, frowning at his reflection in the mirror.
He had no reason to be jealous.
It wasn't like he wanted the Weasel or anything, after all.
He sent the thought to the back of his mind and left the bathroom. As he descended the stairs, he was met with the sound of his parents laughing together in the drawing room.
"What's so funny?" he sneered, heading in and taking a seat across from his father.
"Ronald Weasley got left at the alter!" his father roared happily.
Draco felt a feeling of bliss rush through his extremities.
"I can't say I blame her for leaving him…" his mother added in a slightly more serious tone. "No girl deserves to be cheated on, whether she's of pure blood or not…"
Draco felt a lump form in his throat.
"Weasley cheated on Granger?" he snarled, feeling his blood begin to boil angrily within his veins.
That bloody son of a –
The lump in his throat tightened as realisation hit him like a twenty-foot tidal wave.
He wanted Granger.
Author Note: I do not take pleasure in making Ron a cheater. I do however take pleasure in writing Dramione drabbles.
