in 8th grade we had to take a poem and rearrange lines from it to make a new poem. I chose "La Belle Dame Sans Merci" by John Keats. The original is great so look it up. enjoy. review.

"I met a lady in the meads

and her eyes were wild.

Her hair was long and her foot was light

And on thy cheek a fading rose.

They cried- 'La Belle Dame Sans Merci

Full beautiful –a faery's child

Alone and paley loitering

On the cold hill's side

She looked at me as she did love

And saw nothing else all day long.

"I love thee true."

And no birds sing.

O what can ail thee, knight-at-arms!

With horrid warning gaped wide,

With anguish moist and fever dew,

I saw their starved lips in the gloam

Pale warriors, death-pale were they all

And no birds sing.
