Miko stretched and meowed lightly as he woke up from his nap. When he received no answer, he mrrowed again questioningly as he got up to search for his owners and their children. He padded from room to room, peeking his head in each door that was ajar, only to find nothing there. He meowed again, a little louder this time, hoping to get Hikari's attention, as she, at the very least, was still here.
"In here, Miko!" She called, giggling afterwards. Ken had just told her a joke and she couldn't help but laugh at how funny it was.
"Mrrow?" Miko walked into the room and stopped suddenly. There was another human in here with Hikari. The ginger and white cat tilted his head to one side as he studied the young boy. He didn't seem threatening and it looked like he was having fun with Hikari, so Miko guessed the boy was safe to approach.
"Meow~" The call was a touch happier this time, as if Miko was inviting the boy to come over and pat him. Ken glanced at Hikari and she nodded. He got up off the seat and walked over to Miko, who promptly lay on his side, wanting his stomach rubbed.
"Miko, this is Ichijouji Ken, a friend of mine." Hikari introduced them.
Miko thought that was a strange surname, but liked Ken nonetheless. He leaned up and licked the boy on his cheek, the purr from his chest being felt by Ken. He smiled and patted the cat on his head tenderly.
