Walking through the store, Calvin was bored out of his mind. He then realized that Hobbes had left his side, he began to run through the aisles worried about his best bud. He wasn't worried about his safety, he was a big ferocious tiger and that was the problem. He finally got his mom to let Hobbes in the store, and that flea bag had to go off and eat someone. He stopped almost falling down. There sat Hobbes staring at a bunch of stuffed animals.

"What's wrong see anyone you know" Calvin asked.

"I think I'm in love" Hobbes said a dazed look in his eyes. He was staring at a tiger with green eyes, and long whiskers. (in one comic that's what Hobbes says he looks for in a woman)

"What with a girl? What about cooties? What about G.R.O.S.S.?" Calvin exclaimed. Hobbes merely continued staring. "Wow your really serous about this I'll get mom and ask if we can take her home. And I guess it's okay since she's a girl tiger instead of just a girl"

"I'll come with maybe my lovesick heart can convince your mom to take her home. For now goodbye my love" With that he was off.

They ran to find his mother, they ran through the milk aisle, they ran through the toy aisle, which Calvin briefly stopped at but continued because of Hobbes yelling at him. They finally found his mom getting eggs.

"Don't run Calvin, do you want us kicked out again" She said, putting emphasis on again.

"Mom, Hobbes thinks he's in love and wants us to buy the girl tiger and take her home." Calvin said, pausing for breath.

"I don't know honey, another tiger?" His mom said.

"No mom not for me! Why would I want a girl tiger! It's for Hobbes" Calvin said. "Think of all the times santa didn't get him any gifts"

His mother rolled her eyes "Well if it's for Hobbes, alright go and get it, I mean her"

"Come on old buddy" He said running off. They ran all the way back, but by the time they got there she was gone.

"I'm sorry Hobbes I know what how much she meant to you, even if I can't really get the whole liking girls thing" Calvin said.

"It's okay you did everything you could" Hobbes said. They went home and everything continued as normal. Except Hobbes was kind of absent minded. Like when he was doing Calvin's math homework he would stop for a couple minutes and just look out the window. Calvin told him to get back to work or he wouldn't get Calvin's dinner. Hobbes then put down the answer "The Mississippi River" and started eating the salmon. One time during Calvinball when the score was Q to Bils he said it was zing to H.

One day they were walking through their forest of a backyard.

And Calvin said "Hey Hobbes is something wrong I mean you've been really out of it?"

"Well it's just that- oh never mind you wouldn't understand" Hobbes said.

"Oh come on since when couldn't you tell me anything. I'm your best friend and the only one that can hear you." Calvin said.

"Exactly no one else can hear me but you and" He paused before saying this "You and her"

Calvin then realized that Hobbes loved her because he felt neglected and lonely but she didn't make him feel that way. Well he didn't realize that exactly and even if he did he wouldn't have the vocabulary to say so.

"Well then we have to find her" Calvin said.

"What?" Hobbes asked.

"We must search high and low for her, if she really makes you feel that way we have to find her" Calvin said

"Come on Calvin who knows the person who bought her could have moved, I mean we don't even know where to start" Hobbes said

"I don't care where ever we will find her I don't care if we have to go through snowy plains or sandy desert we will" He was cut off when he saw Susie playing with a stuffed tiger with green eyes and long whiskers.
