False Corrosion

Just a small poem I wrote concerning Sam, Dean, and the ninth season. I mean, wow. Some angst there, hey? You'd think they'd get a break sometime, but no dice. Next thing you'll know, Armageddon will come in the form of small, unkillable bunny rabbits.

We're brothers through it all, and so much more

We're family in peace and legacy in war

Our hands may drip with the feel of blood

And perhaps screams crash over us like a giant flood

But so long as we're with each other in skin and bone

We'll all be just fine, because we're not alone

I never wanted this for you, and I know you are the same

I never wanted to share a burden or split the pain

We fight the battle of angels and cruel devils

Fight for reasons beyond anything on normal levels

Because we've been chosen for what we didn't want

Chosen to clash and become what we would hunt

We might as well have poison running in our veins

The way we feel right now, it wouldn't be a major change

We could quit this moment, we're both so fucking tired

We would do it, too, but that's just not how we're wired

I know you just as well you know me

We are both sad souls drowning in a crimson sea

We're bitter inside and we hide our darkness

Hide the fact that if we weren't together, we'd be heartless

We'd be the monsters in bad dreams, creatures of nightmare

We'd be twisting, cold shadows and we wouldn't even care

We cannot go back, so we can only move forward

Be the words unspoken and the voices not heard

We're two sides of the same coin, a horned head and forked tail

Should we fall to Hell, our souls are too corrupted to be for sale

We're two demons bound by one fragile, black tether

So now all I can say is, thank God we're together.
