Laila panted as she stumbled over debris & jagged rocks. The rain was pouring hard, and it felt like mini-daggers on her skin. The rocks cut into her skin, and she felt her pulse increase as the injures tried to heal themselves. She had gotten out of her way, and got seperated from everyone somehow. Her mask was tied on her arm since she knew if it fell off her head, they could find her. Laila had been through every alley, behind every shadow New York had, but she still couldn't find anyone. Laila paused as her injuries were getting worse. After hearing them nearby, she ran into the forest.
The branches brushed against her cuts, making them worse. Laila knew she couldn't stop, as she ran down the, now mud, dirt path her and Karai used to spar on all the time. She was in exterme pain from the injuries, but she knew she had to keep going. After what seemed like hours, or days, however long the red-head was running, she encountered a beat-up farmhouse. Laila was surprised it was still up, as she recognized it. Her eyes widened as she realized this was where her and Karai used to play.
(Flashback)
A younger Laila and Karai were playing tag around the farmhouse, laughing while their mother suddenly picked them up,and hugged them.
"Wet me go, Mwommy." Laila protested and she laughed, hugged her, and set her down. Laila and Karai found a haystack, and they jumped and played in it for a while before they were forced to hide because humans were showing up.
(Back to present time)
Laila smiled and walked inside, nothing had changed. The haystack was still there. She heard someone coming and quickly got into a defensive stance. After realizing it was Donnie, Laila relaxed.
"Hey, Donnie, wasn't Leo,Raph and Mikey with you?" Donnie paused.
"Donnie, what happened to Leo Raph and Mikey?" Donnie looked down, and handed Laila Raph's mask.
"No...Raphie."
