"So you were 'the man who couldn't die'? Must have hurt, killing yourself all the time," Ianto commented, smiling at Jack as he passed him a mug of steaming coffee.
"Oh, you know, it had its advantages," Jack grinned playfully.
Ianto frowned and waited for him to continue.
"For a while I was the most popular act in the show. It meant that I had a run of very sexy, very decent and very rich boyfriends!" Jack laughed, his eyes glazing over slightly, in that way they always did when he thought of his past.
Ianto's eyes filled momentarily with hurt.
"Jealous?" Jack asked, raising his eyebrows provocatively at his lover.
"Of course."
"You know, I'm happier now than I've been for a long time and it isn't because there's a queue of men outside my door," the Captain smiled. "You're not just one in a long line Ianto. You don't need me to tell you that."
Ianto smiled hesitantly.
"I know," he whispered, almost not believing the words he said. Jack was...well Jack. Incredibly sexy, drop dead gorgeous, confident... everything Ianto felt he wasn't.
"But you are," Jack whispered, taking Ianto's hand.
It was almost as if he could read Ianto's mind. Maybe he could? As far as Captain Jack Harkness was concerned, anything was possible.
Ianto laughed.
"What?" said Jack pretending to look offended.
"I love you too," Ianto replied, squeezing his Captain's hand tightly and never wanting to let go. "So much."
