Disclaimer: I own nothing.

So this is my first SwanQueen fiction…I've done one thing with OUAT, but it was a crossover with Criminal Minds, so essentially this is my first OUAT! The song is "Break In" by Halestorm. Hope you enjoy :) PLEASE REVIEW!

Put your lighter in the air and lead me back home

When it's all said and done, I'll follow the echoes

I hear you night after night, calling out my name

And I find myself running to meet you

Regina was standing on the pier at eleven o'clock under the light of the pale moon. The water reflected the moon's light and she let out a deep sigh. Her hands were in her pockets and she was trying to stay warm. Somehow she couldn't quite leave though. Her mind was preoccupied, so the cold wasn't bothering her at all. It was another night when she couldn't get Emma's voice out of her head.

And what was even more puzzling…all her voice was saying was her name.

Regina.

Over and over again she heard her name. It made no sense to her. Why was she hearing her name? Why was Emma saying her name?

It was true that lately her feelings had been out of control. She couldn't control them. Every time she saw her she felt tingles all over her body and her mouth dried up. Though there had been animosity in the past between them, it wasn't there anymore. She just wanted to be with her every moment of every day and hear what she had to say. She didn't even mind who her parents were.

It was like the darkness had started to fade from her heart.

I didn't want to escape

From the bricks that I laid down

Her walls were breaking down and she couldn't contain her feelings anymore. It didn't matter that there had been animosity between them, that her mother was dead because of Mary-Margaret, Emma's own mother. It didn't matter the jealousy over who was Henry's rightful mother because they were both his mother. None of that mattered anymore to her.

You are the only one

The only one that sees me

Trusts me and believes me

Everything was about her. She was good with her. The darkness in her heart, the revenge that had once consumed her was fading to reveal red instead of blackness. She could bear with the harshness that Storybrooke dealt her as long as she could see Emma near her. Emma had believed her when Cora had framed her for Archie's death. Well, she'd believed her until she'd used magic and witnessed Cora using her body to do it. But she'd truly believed she was trying to be good for Henry.

You are the only one

The only one that knows me

And in the dark you show me

Yeah, it's perfectly reckless

Damn, you leave me defenseless

So break in

How did this woman, this daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, have the ability to unhinge her in this way? Regina thought of herself as a no nonsense person, but everything about Emma was nonsense to her. She didn't understand how all her feelings were supposed to meld with who she was as a person. There was no way any of it made sense to her now and she doubted it ever would.

Sighing, she started striding off the docks and back towards her car. At some point she would come to terms with her feelings for Emma Swan. And she hoped it would happen sooner rather than later because she'd already broken through her defenses.

She had every little part of Regina at her fingertips.
