Steve crouched in front of his father's grave and his grandfather, laid some flowers and wept. He remembered the time he rarely cried, but that time has gone since Doris faked his own death. After that life only mistreated him.

Steve sighed.

His only refreshment was Catherine, but even her, the life took away.

"We, the McGarretts, serve our country, do our best, and do our duty with honor, but why are we so unhappy in love?" Steve said in low voice.

He paused.

"You're gone so young, Grandpa. You can't even meet my father", Steve said, wiping away some tears that kept falling.

What about you, Dad? I think you saw your life fall apart when my mother faked her own death and you had to send us away. You saw your family and your dreams being destroyed. It hurts in me, and I wonder how much it hurt in you".

Steve paused again and looked up at the sky.

"I miss you guys, I miss Joe, I feel lonely".

Steve let the emotions flow strongly.

"And the legacy of our family will end. You two left descendants, but I couldn't".

Steve stood there for a long time, his head bowed. He shuddered as he felt long, thin fingers that rested between his shoulder and his neck, a touch that he recognized immediately.

Steve turned to look at her. The wind made her hair fly and she wore a long dress.

"Catherine?" Steve spoke as he got up.

"Hey, sailor".

"What is it?" Steve asked.

"That's your legacy", Catherine said, taking his hand and placing it over her prominent belly.

Steve was in shock.

"It's a boy", she said, smiling.

"But how?"

"Even at his death Joe helped us. His death brought us together, remember?" Catherine said, referring to the time they were alone on the ranch.

Steve hugged her, thrilled, he kissed her, and then smiled. He turned to the rest places of his father and grandfather. "You two heard that? A new McGarrett is on the way!"

The end.
