A crowd had amassed outside of the Republic Military Complex. Multiple mastheads flew the colors of the Grand Army of the Republic. And in the center of it all, was the massive slab of Geonosian stone that had etched into it's sides the numbers and names of every trooper who was killed in the first battle of the Clone Wars.

A group of seven Shock Troopers, each armed with a DC-15a blaster rifle, stood at attention in front of a carefully placed stage, with a garrison of others former a protective perimeter around the event. The occupants of the stage included Jedi Grand Master Yoda, Master Mace windu, Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker on stage-right.

The occupants of stage left included Admiral Wilhuff Tarkin, Admiral Wulf Yularen, Admiral Coburn, and Admiral Shoan Kilian.

And at center stage, clad in grey robes, stood Chancellor Palpatine, flanked by Mas Amedda, and Senator Padme Amidala. Steeping forward so that he stood close tot he edge pf the stage, Palpatine began to adress the crowd of Corasaunts citizens.

"People of the Republic," he began, "On this day we pay tribute to the memory of the valiant troops who have so gallantly made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom and security. To know that these brave men are willingly giving their lives to protect our democracy fills me with pride that they do so with the strength and determination the Republic has." A chorus of cheers erupted from the crowd as they approved of the Chancellor's statement. Raising his hands to calm the crowd, Palpatine continued.

"And so, it fills me with great joy and reverence to declare this day 'Remembrance Day,' to ensure that the legacy of the troopers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and democracy will never be forgotten! LONG LIVE OUR TROOPS, AND LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC!" The crowd burst into thunderous applause, showing undying support for the Chancellor and the clones. After a few minutes of cheering, Palpatine once again raised his hands to calm the crowd.

"And now, I turn the ceremony over to the Clone Honor Guard, as they give a final salute to their fallen brothers." Commander Fox, who was standing beside the seven Shock Troopers at the front of the stage, stood at attention as he began to issue orders to his men.

"HONOR GUARD! Aten-TION!" All seven troopers snapped to attention.

"MAKE READY!" The rifles were brought up to rest against their shoulders.

"PRESENT!" The clones took their blasters and aimed them toward the sky.

"FIRE!" A round of blasts went off.

"FIRE!" Another round.

"FIRE!"

(Begin playing "Taps with Orchestration") With the last round echoing across the crowded space, a lone horn began to play a melancholy tune, slowly being backed by multiple other horns. As the sound echoed over the silent crowd, Captain Rex, standing just behind his general, bowed his head in remembrance of his fallen brothers. Rex wished so desperately that Fives was still alive, as well as Hevy, Echo, 99, even Hardcase. But he knew they were gone. But it didn't matter, because Rex knew that he would try his best to keep their memories alive. With his head still bowed, Rex let out a soft whisper that echoed in his helmet as the tune came to an end.

"Rest Well, Brothers."
