I know this is kind of mediocre, but I figured that I may as well put this up here.
Papyrus has been waiting for nearly an hour for his brother to return home. He paced back and forth in his room, expecting his brother to turn up soon.
The skeleton sighed. He didn't really need Sans to read for him, right? After all, Papyrus was an adult.
Papyrus walked over to the bookshelf to pick a book, picking out random books. He could read "Peek-a-Boo with Fluffy Bunny" if he wanted to, but then the skeleton shook his head. He wanted to try something different.
Searching through the bookshelf, he grabbed a different book. This one he remembered borrowing from the library a day or two ago. It was the History between Humans and Monsters.
Excited, Papyrus tried to read through the book...but, the text was too small for him to read, he could barely make out any of the words.
He placed the book back in his bookshelf. He tried to look for something else to read. He pulled something out, it was a science fiction book. Papyrus recalled that this was one of his brother's favorite books. Papyrus tried to read through it. Unfortunately, the text was somehow even harder to read in this book then it was in the other one.
Papyrus sighed in defeat. He pulled out a few more books from his shelf. He found himself reading through a puzzle book and one of those human history books (which he had borrowed from Undyne a few days ago). While Papyrus has never seen a human, nor does he know about their history, he couldn't help but feel that the history book was inaccurate (it didn't help that the history book was in the same format as a comic book).
Half an hour passed, Papyrus finally heard the front door swing open. The skeleton stepped out of the room, he saw his brother dusting the snow off his hoodie. Delighted to finally see his brother, Papyrus ran down stairs and picked Sans off the ground.
"oh hey, papyrus," Sans said casually. Papyrus placed his brother back on his feet, placing his hands on his hips. "WHERE WERE YOU!? I WAS WORRIED THAT YOU'D FALLEN ASLEEP IN THE SNOW!"
"don't worry, i was just talking to a friend."
"You mean the ruins door?" Papyrus asked, giving Sans an odd look. It was always odd how Sans would talk to a door of all things.
Sans shrugged. "sure, i guess you could say that."
"Well, I'm glad you're safe," Papyrus said happily. He awkwardly rubbed the back on his skull. "If it's not too much trouble, could you read me a bedtime story?"
"sure thing," Sans began to head upstairs into Papyrus' room. "do you have anything in mind?"
"Not really," Papyrus said as he followed his brother into his room, "Feel free to surprise me!"
Sans looked through the bookshelf, his bony fingers were poking the books. "are chapter books ok?"
"Anything's fine!" Papyrus replied as he sat on the bed. Sans nodded as he pulled a book out. "how about we just do a quick one?"
The smaller skeleton sat on the bed next to his brother. Papyrus noticed he'd picked one of his favorite books, "Peek-a-Boo with Fluffy Bunny."
Papyrus wrapped an arm around his brother as Sans started to read the book. No matter how irritating he could be, it was always nice to have his brother around.
I like to think that he can really get into certain books, he just needs his brother's help.
...And I'm sure Sans doesn't mind, either.
