"It's my loss, go ahead and kill me."

"I, Leontius, do not possess a spear that pierces women."

"I've - wait, what?"

Alexandra blinked. Had she heard that correctly? Her thoughts of dying an honorable death were quickly being replaced by sheer indignation from what may have been the most ridiculous statement she had ever heard.

"You... you don't possess a... you do know you are fighting Amazons, right?"

"Well, I don't see how who my enemy is changes my code!"

Alexandra stared blankly for some time before realizing that she was in fact, despite what some descendents of the Thunder God would think, still on a battlefield. She roses to her feet, grabbing her own spear and putting some distance between her and her opponent.

She pointed her spear at the man. "If you don't have the guts to kill a woman then maybe you should reconsider fighting with an all-female army! And as for your code, look around, your men have killed my sisters and my sisters have killed your men in turn. What you see as honor I see as an insult to my people!"

The man simply stood there, not even adopting a battle stance. That just pissed Alexandra off even more. After an uncomfortable pause, silence only being broken by the still ongoing battle, the man spoke. "I still won't fight you."

"ARGH!" The undignified scream of frustration pierced through the sound of metal clashing against metal. Several warriors, both men and Amazons stopped momentarily to see where the noise had come from.

"You listen here you.."

Alexandra paused. She was angry, rightfully so, but she was still supposed to leading a battle, and she was losing. Alexandra was already cursing at herself when she ordered the retreat. As great as it would be to put this Leontius character in his place this was not a battle to be won, and if there would be any chance of victory the Amazons would have to regroup.

But this particular duel was not over, not by a longshot. Alexandra would make sure the man would eat his words, even if she died trying.

"I've gotten to like you, Leontius. Someday you will be mine. Don't forget that!"

Oh yes, this was one battle she would not lose.
