Disclaimer: Duh, I don't own Benjamin Button.
A/N: I have no idea. I just watched this movie last night and it came to me. Hope you like it!
I've always loved you
Daisy POV
I felt the ocean breeze and heard the sound of the ocean. I opened my eyes to a soft yellow light and an extremely handsome face.
"Where am I?" I asked softly, but I needn't have, I already knew.
I was in heaven.
Benjamin smiled widely and chuckled.
"I've waited some time for you, Daisy"
He held out his hand, I took it and he helped me to my feet.
We were on an amazing beach, the most beautiful beach I'd ever seen. Not too far away, a sailboat waited for us to get on.
Ben still hadn't let go of my hand and he started walking me towards the boat, smiling the entire time.
I still felt disoriented, something felt different. My bones weren't rickety anymore, my face had no wrinkles, and the pain was gone. but those weren't what I was feeling.
"It's your leg Daisy, it's healed." He twirled me around, "You can dance"
I let go of his hand and went into fifth position, and began to do one of the simpler dances I'd taught my students, anticipating the extreme pain I was used to.
But it never came.
It was so exhilarating! to finally be able to move freely and dance as I wanted. I laughed and spun around, dancing as I hadn't danced in years.
I finally remembered Ben, but he was standing there watching me. He looked so happy; I couldn't remember this happiness from him except when he was holding Caroline.
Caroline.
"Oh Ben, Caroline"
"She'll be fine honey. She took it hard, but she'll reconcile."
"But I waited so long to tell her about you, I was so scared."
"She doesn't hate you, now she has the rest of her life to remember those last moments with you."
"I hope she'll forgive me for keeping it from her."
"She will. She loves you"
I smiled and took his hand again. We were almost to the boat now.
"Ben?"
"Mhm?"
"What happens now? How does this work?"
"It works how we want it to. Right now, we want to sail. Later, it will be what you want."
I looked at him closely. I wasn't sure exactly how old he looked but it was probably forty or so.
"Why do you look that age?"
"Well, I wanted to be an age you'd remember me as. One where you loved me and one that, when Caroline gets here, she'll see as a fatherly figure."
"Oh. How old do I look?" I felt my face with the hand not holding his. I couldn't feel any wrinkles or age spots.
"A bit younger than me. Around thirty. You look like you did when you danced, you look beautiful."
"Thank you"
"I'm so sorry you had to take care of me Daisy" This was the first time I'd seen him frown since I got here.
"I'm not. I love you Benjamin Button and I would have done so much more."
"I love you Daisy"
"Now come on. I wanna sail"
He smiled and lifted me into the boat. When he got in, he went over and started messing with the rigging. Suddenly, he turned around and looked at me with fire in his eyes.
"I've always loved you Daisy. And I always will"
I took three steps to him and he took me in his arms, kissing me as he used to, many years ago.
And we sailed off into the perpetual sunset, to live in love and happiness for eternity.
