He wanted to reach out for the sky, but he was just too lazy to do it.
Instead all he did was close his eyes and imagined that he was.
As for Temari, well all she did was look at him, trying to figure out what he was thinking.
"Wouldn't it be great," Shikamaru began, as if reading her thoughts, "if we were as carefree as the clouds or the birds?"
She smiled. Another daydreaming session. "I don't think birds are very carefree."
"You know what I mean." He looked up and saw birds soar by, as if on cue. "To be able to be so up high, having the sky literally as the limit."
"Depends on if you're scared of heights."
"Temari.."
She laughed. "It would be alright I guess, being able to move in the air as if you were swimming in a lake."
"We'd be so free, and we'd have so much more space to move around."
"Not like you do much moving around in the first place," she said, seeing him lying there in the field.
He smirked. "That's only because I can't fly."
Temari rolled her eyes. "Only moving if you have wings to do it for you."
He kept the look on his face.
"You just want your head up in the clouds, don't you?"
"Maybe."
She grinned. "Don't worry, it's up there enough."
He chuckled.
"Still, don't you wish to be free like that at times?"
Temari moved closer to him, placing a hand on top of his.
"No, I've got what want down here."
End.
