Hinata tries hard to think of anything, any reason, that could make sense to Itachi and make him stop wooing her. Her personal feelings doesn't matter. He deserves someone better.
Someone not like her.
"Y-you are taller than me." Stupid.
He chuckled. "Nice try but I'm only 18 cm taller than you are. Don't women likes their man taller?"
She should have known he would answer like that. Time to change strategy. "I like Naruto-kun."
He eyed her. "You liked him. You love me."
She can't deny that but she should. Her face felt like fire. "I-I don't!"
"Hn. Deny harder. "
He was smiling down at her. Looking like someone who already figured out her plan of putting him off.
An idea came to her.
"You are a scrooge."
"I was saving for us."
"Uchihas can be cruel and manipulating."
Itachi actually snorted. "Sounds like Hyuugas to me."
"Neji-niisan doesn't approve of you."
"Give me a name that he actually approves."

"You don't like pets. I like dogs."
"As long as it's not a bug, we're good."
"I'm no good around men except my teammates."
"Better. I'll Amaterasu any other men who you are comfortable with."
She fiddled with her fingers. Itachi is just too good. What does he sees in her?
"Sasuke doesn't like me."
"Then Neji can have someone to talk to."
"Father doesn't like your father."
"The feeling's mutual."
"Your mother might not like me."
"Are you kidding? She would do anything for a daughter. Like you."
"Hanabi can be pretty snarky sometimes."
"Try Sasuke."
She gave out a light laugh. Hanabi is nothing against the younger Uchiha.
"You might have to endure hours of shopping with me."
"Mother would love to come with us."
"I am weak."
"You are not."
"Then, I might become your weakness."
"You are my strength, Hinata."
"I still have my obligations to my clan."
"I can wait."
"If we get together," she blushed. It's like she's already giving up on warding him off. "The Hyuuga elders might want to talk to you."
"They better put on nametags because all of your elders looks the same to me."
She blanched on that. "They don't!"
"Are you sure they are not Kage bunshins?" He gave her a grin.
She can't believe it. Kiba, Shino, Naruto and some people thinks the same way. Do they really look the same?
"Your fangirls..."
"Ah, about that..."
She finally found the loophole...
"Once they found out about us, they'll shift to Sasuke. That poor brother of mine."
..the loophole that doesn't exist now.
"You... know so little of me."
"We can fix that. Hinata, what's your favorite food?"
"I love romance movies but you don't."
"Hinata, every couple has the same problem."
"I'm afraid of getting my heart broken."
"All of us almost have the same fear. The only difference we can make is if we're willing to take the risks."
A warm hand engulfed her heart. He was no more smiling. Itachi has a solemn look on his face. She felt her heart swell from all the emotions building up in her. A lump formed in her throat in an attempt to not cry.
This is the person who was willing to be with her. The person who was willing to take care of her, to love her.
Is she ready to take the risk?
She already has an answer.
"Itachi, will you be my boyfriend?"
"Yes."
