"Rose, are you feeling alright?" Scorpius asked, giving the pale hand squeezing his wrist a confused look.
"I'm fine. Of course I'm fine! Why would I not be fine? Really, what's gotten into you?" Her eyes darted from one end of the corridor to the other.
"That's a funny question, considering you're asking it."
"What is that supposed to mean?" He always liked it when her eyes bugged out of her head like that. It was almost always a sign that she was about to do something drastic, most often with hilarious outcomes. The last time her eyes had done that, she'd ended up walking into a wall... in the Great Hall, when she walked in for dinner. Fortunately, she had gotten over that after a few weeks, with much coaxing from Scorpius and Albus.
He looked around, hoping nobody else would see her if she were to walk into another wall. This was not very unusual for her.
"It means you're acting like a lunatic!"
"I am really not in the mood for this!" she cried. Her lips pursed and her eyes pleaded.
He caught on all too quickly. "Are you... nervous? About you N.E.W.T.s?" A smirk graced his lips.
"I am NOT nervous!" she cried.
"Then why are you sweating?" He raised a clear eyebrow, trying hard not to laugh at the adorable way her left eye subtly twitched.
"I am not sweating! I'm just... shiny," she declared, her eyebrows furrowing as she wiped her forehead.
"Ah, of course." He smirked. "I shoul have known."
"Yes. You should have. Well, 'bye!" she exclaimed, spinning on her heel and hurrying down the hallway, hugging her books to herself.
He shook his head a little as he watched her red hair fly out behind her. "Rose, you forgot something!" he called.
She stopped, her shoulders dropping in defeat. Slowly, she turned around and skittered back up the hallway. "What did I forget?"
He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulled her close and kissed her.
"Your stress reliever."
