Hello fellow readers :D I do not own the Legend of Korra, I'm simply here to share my love for the show. Enjoy ! R and R :D
Just like that, only two weeks since she had left, and he was with Asami again. The thump in her chest should've been there, and the heat of the flames in her palms should've been existent, but they were not. Oddly, the anger that should've coursed through her was nowhere to be found. As she caught a glimpse of the couple in the distance, and Bolin trailing right behind them, a small smile crept onto her face. They were all idiots, crazy little idiots. They knew how to have fun, and in the end she knew, they needed to enjoy life.
The group, Mako Asami, and Bolin, were supposed to deal with their lives, not get wrapped up in hers, she understood that now. She, Korra, was the Avatar, the one to succeed Aang, the one to deal with the problems of the world, bring peace, travel and calm the elements, and at the moment, deal with the oncoming Harmonic Convergence. Why should Mako, Asami and Bolin have to come with her and feel the dread and weight of these issues, especially Mako? She wanted to be upset, feel anxiety and pain, but it wouldn't come.
Her knowledge of the world had grown, she knew that it wasn't her time to settle down and have a relationship. She knew her mind couldn't handle the issues of being a young adult and deal with the problems of the world. She wondered how Aang could've done it, but all in all, she was just Korra. After exiting the Spirit World, reality hit her like a ton of bricks. Saving the world right now was more important than hanging on the fact that her ex boyfriend was once again dating Asami. What did he see in her? Asami was indeed pretty and strong and fearless in her own way. Korra knew Asami could be there for Mako and not disappear off into the middle of the night like she would have to.
She was leaving once again. The rest of Team Avatar made their way down the pier. She knew she couldn't truly deal with saying goodbye; she could only hope that she would stop Vatou and deal with the Harmonic Convergence correctly. Her eyes met Mako's for a mere second, and in that second she saw worry and sadness. She simply gave a small smile and waved to the others. She wasn't going to hold anything against him, she couldn't. She was stubborn, and part of them breaking up was her fault. Right now she could only hope the best for him as well as the rest of the people she loved.
This was her time to go off and do something right for once. She wouldn't make a mistake this time; she would correct what others had done wrong. Maybe in the end, she would make Mako proud; maybe he would pull her into a hug once more. But right now, Asami had her arms around him, and it seemed like he was going to stay there. He needed her and she needed him.
But more importantly, the world needed her, Avatar Korra.
She had a purpose to serve and she was going to fulfill it. Now wasn't the time to dwell in past problems or relationships. She would head into the future head on and tackle any problem, just like the hot headed girl she was.
