"Okay, have fun at work babe. We'll order pizza tonight; I can't be bothered to cook." Rita kissed Iain as he prepared to go to work that morning.

"Yeah sounds good. Remember I'm doing an extra hour at the end of my usual shift though, yeah?" Iain held Rita close to him, knowing that he would is her whilst he was working, even though he would call her during his lunch break.

"Yes, that's fine. You're going to be late if you don't get going." Rita kissed Iain again and pulled away from him slowly, not wanting to leave his embrace. "I love you."

"I love you too, babe. See you this evening."

"See you later." Iain walked down the path and closed the gate behind him as he began his journey to work that day.

Iain had been gone almost two hours now and Poppy was taking a nap on the sofa next to her mother, but Hannah was nowhere to be seen.

Rita slowly and carefully moved off the sofa, so that she didn't wake Poppy, who still had 20 minutes left to sleep so that she didn't get tired soon after she woke up.

Rita wandered through the house until she found Hannah in her bedroom, with 3 slices of bread in one hand, whilst the carpet was covered in bread crumbs. Rita wanted to scream.

"Hannah, what on earth are you doing?" Rita's pupils were wide, as if she had seen a ghost, and she struggled to keep the shocked tone out of her voice.

"Oh, hi mummy. I'm just feeding the ducks." Hannah's innocent eyes looked into her mothers, showing that she had the purest intentions.

"What the- Hannah, there are no ducks." Rita was already thinking about how difficult it would be to get the bread crumbs out of the carpet, since they were so small.

"Not yet."

It was time for Iain's lunch break and as he sat down with his ham sandwich, crisps, and the chocolate bar that Rita had packed for him to take to work he dialled Rita's number.

"Hey babe. How's your day going?" Rita's calm voice on the other end of the phone always worked in a therapeutic way to Iain, who was in love with the woman that he was lucky enough to go home to every night.

"It's alright thanks. And you?" Iain took a bite out of his sandwich and enjoyed the unusual calmness of the staff breakroom, since every other crew was out on a shout.

"You won't believe what Hannah did today."

Just a short story inspired by a tweet that I saw in a clickbait article (I know, right) that I thought was really funny, then I thought about Riain and knew that, with recent events, we could all do with some cheery fluffiness for Riain, even if it is only in fics.
