::Chase, thank Primus you're in range! We have an emergency back at Headquarters. Come quickly!::
The blue and white Autobot did not wait until the opportunity presented itself for him to make a rather hasty U-turn and then retreat back to the Firehouse.
When he arrived, though, the first thing he noticed was that nothing seemed to be amiss. "My audio receptors must be malfunctioning. I thought Blades said there was an emergency occurring here," Chase muttered as he transformed.
An acrid scent akin to smoke reached the Rescue Bot, making him wonder, Has a fire occurred? But he dismissed the thought. Heatwave had elected to remain with Bumblebee while he visited; he should have had no need for Chase's assistance in the event of a fire.
"Blades? Boulder?" Chase called out the names of his teammates. He received no answer. Further confused, he increased his pace in the direction of the lift elevator. Perhaps they were in the Bunker.
::Heatwave, what is your current condition and/or location?::
The team leader was not responding.
A worried frown creased Chase's faceplate. Quickly jamming the right buttons on the ridiculously tiny console, he began to pace anxiously as the lift descended. When the doors opened, the blue and white Autobot could not help but feel surprised at what he saw.
Bumblebee whirred challengingly, raising his fists in a boxing stance as he faced Heatwave, while Blades and Boulder stood opposite each other, optics narrowed. Cody stood in the middle of it all, holding a remote in one hand and a bowl of blackened, smoking popcorn in the other.
"I fail to comprehend – what is the nature of this emergency?" Chase looked from Heatwave to Blades and back again.
"Oh, Chase, there you are," Blades said in that quick, gushing way of his. "Cody suggested a movie night, and we all agreed on a superhero film, but no-"
"Get to the point before he goes offline," Heatwave snapped.
The copter shot him a not-so-intimidating death glare. "But now it's over and we decided to watch another. Bumblebee and I want to watch Captain America,"—he quickly high-fived the yellow scout—"but Boulder and Heatwave want to watch Iron Man. Cody said he's not getting involved because he likes them both."
"I fail to understand why you called me here from patrol," Chase said, puzzled. "What part of this qualifies as an emergency?"
Blades resumed glowering at Heatwave. "The emergency is that there's two of us and two of them, and Cody's not taking sides." He gestured to each group in turn. "We need a tie-breaker."
