Phantom POV

A single chorus of violins could never have matched the beautiful voice of the young soprano on stage. From the very first note, I felt a severe passion that had raged through my body and electrified every cell. It was a sensation that I have longed to feel for some time. The sensation was one of being full-heartedly consumed in a mystifying blanket of perfect sound. I heard, through a very slight crack in the floor and ceiling, the voice of Christine Daae. To my knowledge, Christine was just a chorus girl who had the potential to become one of the best stars on stage. As I listened, Christine's voice swirled through the stale air and gave it life, if life was a conglomeration of bright and deep colors that highlighted the highs and lows of living and breathing. I realized that when I heard her voice, I wasn't struggling with my loneliness, but something much stronger. To describe her ethereal and utterly heartbreaking voice was like describing the complete workings of the human mind. It was impossible, yet so intriguing. From the moment I heard Christine's voice I knew what love was, and if it wasn't love at first hearing, it was the most important discovery I've made in my life. It was in that instant that I realized I loved a woman more than my own being, and more than anything that I have ever known.
