Note: Hey guys! I did this for an exercise in one of my college classes. I'm experimenting with long sentences and short sentences. So, tell me what you think of it. This story actually happened to me. I changed the names and stuff, but while I was working and this happened, I was all like, "This reminds me of Sam and Dean!"

The music from the store across the hall blared loudly and gently shook the other businesses around it. Sunlight filtered through the high, dirty windows and danced among the containers of candy. A variety of people walked by, looking curiously at the items for purchase. The whirring of the machines started up as they continued to refrigerate the ice cream inside.
Sandy hummed softly to herself as she methodically cleaned the smoothie blender from the product of her last customer's order. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a potential customer perusing the display case. Sandy quickly put the blender in the sink, straightened her uniform while walking over, and plastered a big smile on her sweet face.
She finally got a good look at the customer, well, two customers actually. The one that she noticed first was a boy of about six, whose freckled face seriously pondered the size, prices, and flavors of the ice cream. The other one was in a small, cheap stroller; a boy who was possibly two, he sucked on his pacifier excitedly at the prospect of the treat. Finally, the older boy looked at Sandy like he was on the verge of deciding.
"How much more is the child's cup than the cone?" he asked.
"A dollar more," Sandy replied.
The boy looked about to speak again when there was a tug on his sleeve. He looked to his sibling. The toddler pointed to the cone.
"I want chocolate." Little dimples appeared.
The older brother smiled and patted the younger on the head. He turned back to Sandy, "Can I have a child's cone? With chocolate?"
"Of course," the cash register beeped, "it will be one dollar."
The boy dug into his pockets and brought out four quarters. "Here."
"Thank you." Sandy deposited the money in the cash register and closed the drawer with a clang. Expertly she twisted around and slid a cone out and went to the chocolate machine. She deftly turned her wrist as the ice cream swirled to the top of the cone; Sandy pulled the lever up and went to take the masterpiece back to the waiting customer. Just as she was about to hand it to them, the small boy spoke up.
"Can I have sprinklers?"
The older boy sighed. He looked apologetically at Sandy, "Is it alright?"
"Of course." Sandy continued to smile as she shook some sprinkles onto the dessert. "Here you go."
The older boy took the cone and smiled, "Thank you."
"Have a good day." Sandy replied. She then went back to washing the blender.
The boy leaned down to his brother, "Here ya go, Sammy."
The little boy squealed. Popping the pacifier out he grabbed onto the cone with his chubby fingers. "Thanks Dean!"
They walked away and soon blended in with the crowd of people walking by.
So, tell me how it was. I love writing stories of these two! -Ms. Severus Kenobi
