Hey guys, had been itching to write a random Hakuouki oneshot after watching this hilarious video on Youtube: watch?v=fwM_i-kWVgc. Hope that you guys won't mind the randomness~! Please let Sakurai-san know if you guys want a fic based on these people...
"SO, what you are telling me is…" Suzuka frowns as she observed Saito and Tamaki over her parfait.
"Saito-san." Rin and Suzuka were shocked when they heard Tamaki calling Saito 'Saito-san'. Most often or not, Tamaki is used to calling him 'Hajime-kun' or 'Hajime'. "I have something I need to clarify with you." She tells the member of the Student Council uncomfortably, not noticing that her best friends were spying at them from another table.
Tamaki throws what it seems to be an envelope on the table and Saito looks up at the tall girl immediately with his default expression.
Rin and Suzuka held their breaths as they were expecting Saito to say something about the letter but it was Tamaki who responded.
"Do you hate me so much that you are planning to kill me or something?!" Tamaki snaps at him. "If you don't like me calling you Hajime or Hajime-kun, tell me straight in the face. What's the meaning of this?!"
Saito looks down at the letter which he had addressed to Tamaki and back to her dumbly. He had no comments over Tamaki's accusation but Rin could see that he is a little scared by Tamaki's expression.
"Nothing."
Upon hearing the reply, Tamaki throws her hands up and slams one of her fists on the table.
"If you want a duel, you're getting one, Saito Hajime!" she snaps before turning away and leaving in a huff.
Saito remained motionless in his seat for a while before looking down at the letter which he had sent to Tamaki and pissed her off severely. Rin and Suzuka rushes over to him after Tamaki is out of sight and both of them were pretty worried about what they had witnessed a few minutes before.
"Saito, what did you write to Tama?!" Rin asks him while Suzuka picks the letter up from the table to read through.
"I was told by both of you that I should write to Tamaki; she's more receptive if she reads a letter…"
"I have something to tell you. Tonight at 10pm, I will wait for you at the Inner Garden. DON'T YOU DARE RUN AWAY!" Suzuka reads out loud. Both girl gapes at Saito who remained relatively calm.
"Um, Saito, these sounds more like a challenge to a duel." Rin tells him.
"Um, we were talking about a love letter, you know?" Suzuka tells Saito who remains unfazed.
"I understand." The pair exchanged glances; does Saito really understand the meaning of 'writing a love letter'?! Even to a pacifist like Suzuka, the letter sounds like he is issuing a death match to Tamaki, let alone the aggressive and short-tempered Tamaki who takes fights seriously.
"There's no signs of 'love' in your love letter, you know, Saito?"
"You see, expressing feelings with a letter is good but I really think the most important things should be told face-to-face."
Both girls' heaves out the longest sigh Saito has ever heard of in his whole life.
"I admire your courage, Saito-san." Suzuka manages after some time.
"You sure have balls but this is Tamaki that we're dealing with…" Rin sighs.
Both girls place a hand each on a side of Saito's shoulder and said, "Good luck. You'll need it, Saito Hajime."
