A/N: This is based loosely on a real life event and reviews would be awesome! :)
It was a heavy and unexpected snowfall. It ruined plans and journeys but more than that, Lily-Luna thought, it made the world seem beautiful and perfect. So, after a small house party, with long journeys home impractical, the Potter's house was harbouring the additional bodies of Rose,Teddy, Hugo, Scorpius, Molly, Lorcan and Lysander. This was, of course, not particularly comfortable and before long Lily was beginning to get frustrated by the constant shouting and the harsh tones of the Weird Sisters blaring out at her. Apparently someone had noticed this because only thirty seconds after Lily had decided she couldn't stand the noise any longer she felt strong, warm fingers wrap through her own as someone led her gently out of the house.
They got out into the front garden and Teddy picked up the younger girl and began to spin her round. Snow was falling in her eyes and so before long Lily simply closed her lids and just let it happen. Her hair, speckled with white, melting snowflakes, spun out in a fiery sheet. Then she came crashing down to the ground.
The soft snow cushioned her fall and she began to laugh. Teddy pulled her to her feet with an apologetic smile and as if they had planned it they both immediately began to run off across the fields surrounding Harry's house. They sprinted through the fresh snow for some time but Lily was having to work particularly hard to keep up with Teddy's long strides and soon she was forced to stop. When Teddy noticed her absence he turned back to the girl. Then they collapsed in the snow, tired, but laughing and happy.
Conversation began to flow freely between the pair. They had never really been alone together for this length of time and now they were they made the most of it. The conversation was light at first but as time went by and their trust grew more serious topics were discussed. They spoke about Teddy's recent break up with Victoire and how overshadowed Lily always felt by her family's success. They spoke about Teddy's longing for his own parents and Lily's longing for proper friends at school.
Within twenty minutes the heating effect of the fire-whisky began to wear off and Lily's hands became almost blue with the cold. After she lightly mentioned that her fingers felt like they were about to fall off Teddy gently took her hands and gently placed them under his shirt on his warm torso. Soon her hands had reached a more comfortable temperature but she kept them there enjoying the feeling of his skin. Gradually the pair got closer until they were sat entwined in the snow. They were comfortable and happy and somehow warm despite the fact their clothes were soaked by the snow and the temperature was dropping all the time.
All too soon they heard loud voices and saw lit wand tips as James, Lysander, Rose and Scorpius came out looking for them. They instantly broke apart before they could be illuminated by the search party. But the smile they shared said it all.
