The sun went down. It looked as if it melted down into Lake Hyrule.
"It's getting late." Link watched the sunlight shatter in the water of the lake. "Yes. Oh Link… it's so beautiful." Epona licked Link on the cheek. Link responded by stroking her back. "I like it when you stroke me like that." She said. "I know, Epona. I know."
Link mounted Epona. He took his bow out, with a couple of arrows. He had a big bow, made out of sturdy wood. He gave Epona a carrot and they rode towards Kakariko Village.
It was getting late. A wolf howled. Skeletons were popping up from the ground as usual. Link had actually never seen that wolf. Nor had Epona. Link wondered if anyone ever had.
They rode down a couple of skeletons. By the look of the sky, this night was going to be darker than usual. The evening had been disappointing to Link. The poes had been avoiding him for some time now. Link needed those poes. Epona had been great though, he told himself. She was always great.
They rode up to Loin loin ranch. Epona wanted some milk. It made her mane shine. Link poured some of the milk on her. Epona though Link was nice. He'd always taken care of her. He always would, she thought.
"Do you want a carrot?" Link pointed it at her. "Yes, please." Epona said, smirking with glee. He poked Epona with his carrot. "Don't have many left. Well have to begin rationing." Link gave her the carrot. It was big. Epona munched happily.
Link walked towards a pond. Epona was gone. "Where could she be?", he wondered. He looked down into the darkness of the pond. It was deep, and very wet. He touched the surface of the water. The surface of the water began to tremble. A big, long thing made out of water came out from the pond. Liquid spurted everywhere. The thing dropped down on his face, making him all wet. He tried to cry out for help, but he couldn't. He just couldn't.
He opened his eyes. The soft face of Epona met his gaze. A long tounge licked him. It was soft, wet and warm. It felt nice.
He got up. His wet face reflected the sunlight, blinding Epona. She looked away.
Link stroked her mane. She looked at him. He winked and made a crackling sound with his mouth. She kissed him. The kiss was tender, yet firm. It was wet, but not too wet. His tongue touched her. Two lost souls. United by a kiss in the morrow.
Epona awoke in the evening. She'd been sleeping all day. Link was lying beside her, in the warm hay. She touched her mane. It was all messed up.
She sat in a barn. She believed it was located at the Loin loin ranch. Milk and carrots everywhere. The barn was a mess. Her belly was all sticky.
She looked at Link. He looked so cute snoring, with his mouth half open. A small stream of drool went down his cheek.
She licked his face, trying to get him awake.
"We need to collect some poes, Epona." He stood in front of the Loin loin ranch. "We've been slacking lately." She stamped on the ground. Link seemed a bit embarrassed. "Are you O.K? You seem a bit uncomfortable…" She asked him. "I'm all right. Saddle up, Epona. We're going for a ride." She looked down, a bit disappointed.
