A letter to the living

Falling down the rabbit hole,

Farther than Alice ever did,

I find myself thinking,

"Where does it end?"

The darkness surrounds me

As the silence consumes me.

I can hear nothing…

See nothing…

Feel nothing…

The darkness flows through my veins.

I am not afraid of the darkness.

I had known it was coming,

And it empowers me.

I feel wonderful.

The power,

The strength,

The invincibility,

And suddenly…

It's gone.

The darkness has disappeared,

And pain takes its place.

Light is everywhere now,

Scorching every inch of my body.

The pain finally subsides,

And the end has come,

For me and only me.

Let them not join me

In this walk I must take.

For years,

my death has been foreshadowed.

But let them not follow where yet

They are not to tread.

Their time shall come,

Too shortly, I fear.

Let me walk alone,

For my time is now,

To go where

I am meant to be.
