Dinah opened her eyes to the sunlight streaming through the small slits in the blinds and bathing her skin in warm light.

She sighed and stretched as she rolled over in bed feeling for Shayne beside her. But his side of the bed was empty and no longer warm and she wondered where he had gone to. That's when she noticed the note stuck to his pillow.

Dinah,

Sorry I wasn't there when you woke up. But it will all be worth it. I'll call you later.

Shayne

"It will all be worth it," she wondered what he meant by that. 'He must be up to something,' she thought with a smile as she climbed out of bed to get dressed. Just as she was eating breakfast her phone started to ring. She answered on the second ring expecting it to be Shayne.

"Hello."

"Hey sweetie," he replied.

"What are you up to?"

"Whatever do you mean?" he said jokingly.

"I know you are up to something, so spill it."

"Just meet me in the park near the baseball diamond."

"Um…ok. I'll be there in a few minutes then."

When she arrived in the park she saw Shayne standing near a large oak tree, there was a blanket on the ground with a picnic basket and a bottle of wine. She made her way over to him with a smile, "Hey, what's all this?" she asked giving him a hug.

"Can't a guy do something special for his girlfriend?" he said as they both took a seat on the blanket. He pulled out all her favorite foods and poured her some wine before pouring some for himself as well.

"Wow you really thought of everything," she replied looking in the basket he had even brought her favorite dessert.

"Uh, Uh, Uh," that's for later. He said shutting the lid on the basket.

"But desserts the best part," she said with a laugh.

"Yeah I know how much you like your desserts." He said leaning over to kiss her.

After they had eaten he pulled her onto his lap, "This was wonderful Shayne how did I get so lucky."

"I'm the lucky one. But actually there was a reason I wanted to do something special for you."

"Oh ya?"

"Yeah I know I put you through a lot lately with Edmund and the baby…"

"Shayne"

"Just let me finish. I also wanted to tell you how much I love you."

"I have been waiting to hear you say that, I love you too Shayne."

"Come here," he said pulling her closer as their lips met in a passionate kiss.
