Carlisle's POV

This was stupid.

Really stupid.

I should just google the stupid thing and be done with it! But the curious man inside me wouldn't let me do it.I stared at the palm-sized thing lying on the table. It was in the shape of an egg. But it wasn't an egg. I didn't know what it was made of. I had tried to read the wrapper, which was white and orange, but I couldn't make out the name.

But that isn't my biggest problem.

My biggest problem is that when I shake it, something inside it rattles. I wanted to know what was inside it! I needed to know what was inside of it. Pulling on a lab coat, and locking my study door (not that it would make a difference in a house full of vampires) I got out my operating tools. Silver and shining they sat beside the brown egg shaped thing.

I took a breath, and remembered exactly how I got it. I decided to write it down before I started operating. I pulled out my favourite pen and a pad of paper and began to write.

Nine-thiry Easter morning I left the house.

Nine-forty I reached the hospital, where an egg hunt for the children was taking place.

Nine-forty five handed an egg shaped brown thing by a child.

That was it. Now, time for the fun part. I got out the rubber gloves, and snapped them like the doctors in the movies did to scare their patients. I grabbed a cutting tool and cut along the seam of the egg thing.

It spilt open nicely enough. I wrote down that though the outside of the egg was brown the inside was white. I sniffed the air, but it smelled like all human food did to me: bad. Lying there between the two halves was an orange ball. I picked the ball up between my index fingers and thumb. I gave it a gentle squeeze, and felt the plastic give a little. Not wanting to force it, I set the ball to the side. After poking at the sides of the egg, I figured that there was nothing more that I could get from it.

Finally I turned to my computer, and somehow I found what I was looking for.

Kinder Surprise, also known as a Kinder Egg (Kinder being the German word for "Children"), is a confection originally intended for children in the form of a chocolate egg containing a small toy , frequently requiring assembly.

I stared at the brown/white halves on my 'operating' table and felt a slight pull of disappointment. My adventure was over.

My eyes fell on the orange 'ball' that contained the toy and I grinned.

Or not.

The Kinder Egg article is from Wikipedia. Yes, I actually got it off the internet. I typed in The kinder egg and this was the first thing that popped up.

So there will be a sequal to The Kinder Egg, it shall be titled The Toy and it will probably not come up for a while.

I do not own Twilight or any of the characters, nor do I own wikipedia from which the kinder egg article is from.

Love to know what you think.
