I'm going to put this little warning at the beginning of all of my fanfics… I have such a dark soul it is almost black. I mean honestly, so most of my stories are going to be very angsty, probably not death because I enjoy lots of torture like things for example lover almost dies or is kidnapped and found later on and lives… Actually that sounds pretty close to all of them… So happy endings! Alright I'll stop now. If you like it then you better put a like of it! Thanks everyone!

This one is more or less the same as Inside The Metal Box, it just has a little bit of a twist in which Korra connects with her spiritual self in order to servive.

She was so close to death. Her breathing was shallow, her heart beat slow and unsteady. She was holding but only by a shred, a sliver of life a flame sputtering and dying. She lay on her back, eyes closed, brown hair splayed out like a halo around her head. She could feel her body shutting down, and suddenly she didn't have a body at all. She was looking down at herself, and then just as suddenly as before she was feeling the cold metal floor of the box. That's it! The Spirit world! She thought and she forced her spirit from her body and looked around. In front of her were strands of energy connected to her heart. In her spiritual form she could feel who was the closest, Asami.

Asami was in her airship, only a few miles away from where Korra's body was. She was using a magnifying device created by Verrick to look for Korra on the ground below. Suddenly Korra's spiritual body flickered in and out of focus next to her before becoming solid, "Asami! Please come find my body, t-the cottage is t-this way!" Korra lifted her arm and pointed north east. "P-please Asami I don't know how much longer I can hang on." And Korra's form disappeared completely. "Korra wait!" Asami yelled before shouting orders to her crew.

An hour later Asami was breaking down doors and running down steps before reaching the metal box in the basement. "Korra!" she shouted. Inside the box Asami could hear a small noise. "Korra! I'm going to open the door!" Asami grabbed the handle and ripped the door open. She gasped in shock. Inside, Korra was laying on her side, eyes closed, cold sweat had made strands of her long dark hair stick to her pale face. But the most shocking thing was the stillness. Korra's chest barely rose and fell, the rest of her body was absolutely still. Asami gingerly dropped to her knee sand reached out to run a hand over Korra's face moving the sticky strands, K-korra?". Korra's fingers shifted slightly and her eyes fluttered open briefly, allowing the cerulean blue to show before falling closed again. Her mouth opened slightly and she whispered, "A-Asami?". Asami instantly pulled Korra to her, picking he r up and starting for the stairs. "It's me Korra. It's me." Korra seemed to relax into Asami's arms, her head resting on Asami's shoulder.

Inside the airship Asami place d Korra on a bed, removing her soiled and dirtly clothing, replacing them with a pair of clean pajama pants and a shirt. Asami then gently swiped a wet cloth over Korra's arms and face, and her legs, removing some of the dirt and grime from her body. Korra slept for days, on the journey back to Republic City.

Upon their return Kya began to heal Korra's body. It took many hours and much of Kya's energy. Finally Korra's eyes snapped open searching for her savior.
