The greatest oddest team

Dr. Lance Sweets was not the oldest in his profession by a long shot. At just 23 years old, he was actually one of the youngest around, and certainly not someone anybody would take seriously at first glance. But, he was more than he seemed.

Dr. Temperance Brennan was always a rational and seemed rather aloof to Sweets, while her partner, Special Agent Seely Booth, was actually pretty much her complete opposite. While Brennan compartmentalized, and over thought everything, Booth would look on the personality side, the emotional and the reasoning, however 'illogical' it seemed. They made a wonderful team, and got along surprisingly well. So when Sweets was called in to help their 'working-symbiotic relationship' he faced a solid wall of annoyance from the two crime fighters.

As they got to know each other, they slowly began to notice the little things about each other that not many others ever observed. Brennan would chew her lip when she was under a lot of stress, and Booth would play with his miniature dice or his hacky sack ball when he was annoyed or impatient. While Sweets was observing and testing them, he didn't realize they were doing the same to him.

When the topic of Sweets' past was brought up and explored, Brennan was quickly able to sympathize and empathize. While Booth had a bit of a harder time doing so, he was there for Lance when needed. After the 'touchy-feely' part of that evening, Booth and Brennan had all but bullied Sweets into having dinner with them.

Booth and Brennan constantly teased and annoyed Sweets, who, in turn, did his very best to get on their nerves as often as possible. They worked well on cases together however, because of the combination of their experiences and knowledge was practically unbeatable.

Over time, became obvious to just about anyone, that Brennan, Booth, and Sweets, had formed a small group, a tiny family. And if you asked Booth or Brennan, though they would adamantly deny it to anyone else, Lance Sweets was a brother to them. A young, nerdy, annoying little brother. So they would drive each other up the wall. Brennan would constantly insult the use of psychology, Booth would always tease Sweets about his age, and Sweets would continuously try to pair the two of them together as a couple. No matter how many murders, deaths, or tragedies there were, they were always there for each other. The greatest crime fighting team was also the oddest one: The former sniper, now FBI Special Agent; the youngest psychologist, and the best-selling author/ forensic anthropologist.
