AN: A quick little oneshot set in series two when Rhydian was living wit the Smiths. Ah, the good old days. Enjoy.

DISCLAIMER. I do not own Wolfblood. I do, however, own copies of some very beautiful Wizards vs Aliens artwork drawn by the lovely and very talented Phoebe.

Prompt: Imagine your OTP in a power outage. Person A is in their bed, trying to stay warm. Person B comes in and asks to stay with Person A.

"So...cold!"

Maddy peers out from under her duvet. "What are you doing here, Rhydian?"

The boy in question is standing in the doorway of her bedroom, arms wrapped around himself, trying to stay warm. "The heat's out in my room."

"Same as every other room in the house, then".

He rolls his eyes. "Your dad's trying to fix it. Hopefully he'll fix it before we all freeze to death. I can't actually feel my legs. Soon I'm going to get hypothermia."

"Maybe I'll get some peace and quiet if you do," Maddy replies, grinning at him from her fortress of blankets.

"Ha, wow. You're hilarious, Mads. Sometimes I wonder why I like you so much." He lets out a carefree laugh.

He means as a friend, Maddy, she quickly berates herself. She clears her throat, glad that the darkness of the room hides her red cheeks. "Shouldn't you be huddling in your own duvet waiting for the end to come?"

"I don't plan on freezing to death alone in my room, Mads."

"Well, it isn't any warmer in here, Rhydian. Sorry to disappoint you."

"I didn't say it was." He smirks. "I said I wasn't going to freeze to death alone, so, congratulations, we're going to freeze to death together."

"We are, are we? Do I get a choice about this?"

"Nope." He makes a popping sound on the P.

Well, the company would be nice... "Where's your duvet and pillow, then?" She pokes her head further out of her nest. "I'm not having you sitting on the floor and whining about how cold you are."

"I don't need my duvet. You've got about twenty billion blankets piled on you, anyway." He crosses the room in about two strides. "Budge up. I'll fall off the edge if you take up all the room." He pulls the blankets off, sending a gust of freezing air over her, before burrowing under the duvet with her before she can protest.

"You haven't left me much space, have you, Mads?" He grumbles. "I'm freezing, see?"

Maddy lets out a shriek. "Get your cold hands away from me!" She aims a kick at him and hits him in the shins.

"Ow! What was that for?" Rhydian gives her a playful shove back. "Just because of that, I'm claiming this bit of bed."

"This is my bed. You just got in, uninvited." Thank goodness her face isn't visible under the covers. We're just friends, she tells herself fiercely; with a sigh, she rolls over, turning her back on him. "Go to sleep, Rhydian."

"S'too cold for sleeping."

"In that case, can you pipe down and let me sleep?"

"Fine. Night, Mads."

"Night." Maddy pulls her knees up to her chest and closes her eyes, trying to drift off into the land of dreams.

Maybe I should try counting sheep.

One sheep.

Two sheep.

Three s -

"You asleep yet, Mads?"
