Tonight was supposed to be special. It was New Year's Eve. Yet somehow it wasn't the same; Beck wasn't there. Jade lay on her bed, reminiscing in these thoughts, miserably reminding herself of the fact that Beck was in Canada with his family this New Year's Eve. She was spending her New Year's alone, without anyone by her side.
Her pearphone dinged, indicating a new text message. She picked it up and looked at the screen, smiling slightly when she saw Beck's name. Opening the text message, she blinked.
Look out your window.
Confused, she looked down out the window of her second story bedroom, surprised to see her boyfriend standing in the yard below.
"I thought you were in Canada!" She called out angrily, trying to appear angry at the fact that he had lied to her.
"What, so I make an effort to surprise you on New Year's Eve, and you still complain?"
He caught a smile flicker on Jade's lips, however, as she disappeared from her window to run down the stairs, bursting seconds later out the back door and running over to Beck, their lips crashing against each other's, his arms holding her close.
