Science

John scrubbed the blood from the tiles with some sort of vengeance. His arms moved like a man possessed, and his mouth swore like one as well. His eyes narrowed at a particularly stubborn stain, and cursed the man who was responsible for all this mess loudly.

"Really, John, I'm right beside you, and should I add, I am not hard of hearing. There is no need to curse me quite so loudly. Save your energy for more productive activities instead."

"Why don't you save your energy for something more productive? Like, you know, cleaning this darned mess that you made in the first place!"

"It's not a mess," Sherlock said, clearly affronted. "It's an experiment and a work of art. It allowed me to confirm my theory that her alibi does not stand, as it was impossible for a gunshot made from such distance to have that blood splatter pattern."

"And you couldn't have chosen a better setting than our bathroom?"

"Don't be unreasonable. The murder took place in a bathroom. It is imperative that I replicate the situation in the same setting."

"Yeah, and while you're at it, why not move the shower stall and the sink to match the victim's bathroom layout as well?"

"Sarcasm doesn't become you, John."

Sherlock left with a smug grin, and as John continued cleaning the blood (while cursing him loudly again for making said mess in their shared bathroom and thus if John wanted a fully functioning bathroom he had to clean the mess), he promised to himself that if Sherlock ever did something like this again, claiming "It's for science, John!", he'd make sure his head is the next thing making a blood splatter pattern on anything.
