Note: Mai-Hime is an anime that was done by the studio Sunrise and is based on a manga.

Natsuki Kuga and Shizuru Fujino both had jobs. Natsuki got paid for regularly saving the world from Reito and the other criminals that were in her city and nearby cities. Shizuru was an employee at the perfume store. Natsuki and Shizuru were proud of each other for getting a job, but they missed each other during the day.

Natsuki and Shizuru met up at a fast food place. Natsuki noticed that Shizuru was getting distracted by thoughts in her mind more than usual. Natsuki said, "You're usually the talkative one who's pressuring me into explaining my feelings."

Shizuru replied, "I've been thinking about how I wish we could get a second job together."

Natsuki asked, "Why get a second job?"

Shizuru answered, "If we got a job at the same place we could see each other more often."

Natsuki thought about it and said, "True, but we wouldn't get to spend that much together. We would have to focus on our work."

Shizuru replied, "That's sadly accurate. I would be distracted by your beauty throughout the day."

Natsuki blushed with embarrassment and responded, "Come on."

Shizuru jokingly said, "It's your fault for being so lovely."

Natsuki replied, "We would have to get a job that wouldn't take up too much time, because stopping villains will always be the job I take the most seriously."

Shizuru thought about jobs that she and Natsuki could do together and said, "We could be film reviewers."

Natsuki asked, "Does reviewing films count as a job?"

Shizuru answered, "It sure does. You should know that considering how often you binge-watch film reviews."

Natsuki said, "I don't think we have what it takes for a job like that. We don't have the brilliant analyzing skills that Siskel and Ebert had."

Shizuru replied, "We're both people with lots of feelings and we watch lots of films so I think we the skills that are needed."

Natsuki could tell that Shizuru had a lot of confidence in this plan, but she still had some doubts. She said, "Film reviews can be boring when done wrong. Will people want to watch us sit around and discuss a film on a weekly basis?"

Shizuru smiled and replied, "You're so beautiful that I'm sure that people would watch your reviews."

Natsuki blushed again and said, "I'm not that good looking."

Shizuru replied, "You're more than just good looking. You're also incredibly kind, sweet, and heroic."

Natsuki said, "Your compliments are thoughtful and appreciated, but they don't sound like things that would make me a good film reviewer."

Shizuru gently lifted up Natsuki's chin and said, "I believe you can do it."

Natsuki decided that she should give Shizuru's plan a chance. She said, "Lets review one film and see what happens."

Shizuru smiled and replied, "Thank you for trusting me sweetheart." She kissed Natsuki.

Natsuki went to her house and walked up to her parents. She said, "Shizuru and I are going to try to become film reviewers."

Natsuki's dad asked, "Why?"

Natsuki answered, "Shizuru thinks that her and me having a job that we can share would make us more happy."

Natsuki's mom said, "That sounds cute. You and Shizuru have formed such a strong bond."

Natsuki's dad asked, "Does that mean that you're going to have a new job?" Natsuki nodded. Natsuki's dad got excited and said, "That means that you're going to have more money."

Natsuki replied, "New film reviewers don't make that much money when they're starting out. Also, spending more time with Shizuru is the reason that I'm going to try the job."

Natsuki's dad sternly responded, "Money is essential."

The next day Natsuki and Shizuru went to the movies. Shizuru wanted to see an animated film about a kitten. Natsuki wanted to see something more action packed, but she agreed to see the film that Shizuru wanted to watch. They went into the theater. They held hands and shared corny romance lines with each other while waiting for the film to start.

After the film was over, Natsuki and Shizuru went to Natsuki's house to record a review. They went into Natsuki's bedroom and set up the recording equipment. Natsuki grabbed a couple of chairs for her and Shizuru to sit in.

Natsuki asked, "What should we call our film review series?"

Shizuru answered, "At the Movies With Natsuki and Shizuru."

Natsuki said, "That's too similar to the title of Siskel and Ebert's show."

Shizuru thought about a different show name and said, "We could call the show Shizuru and Her Wonderful Girlfriend's Film Reviews."

Natsuki blushed and replied, "That would be the most embarrassing review show name ever."

Shizuru asked, "Should we call it The Natsuki and Shizuru Show?"

Natsuki said, "Too generic. Lets think of the name some other time."

Natsuki started recording. She said, "Greetings audience. I'm Natsuki Kuga."

Shizuru replied, "And I'm Shizuru Fujino, Natsuki's girlfriend. We're super cute together." Natsuki stopped recording while Shizuru giggled.

Natsuki folded her arms and said, "You can't bring up that type of stuff during film reviews. We have to make our introductions short so that the audience doesn't give up."

Natsuki started recording again. She said, "We're here to talk about the kitten animated film. The film is about a young female kitten who has to save her family from a greedy magician who's been forcing her parents to participate in his magic show."

Shizuru was excited to express her feelings on the film. She smiled and said, "This film is so cute! The family bond between the cats is such a darling and adorable thing to watch. The animation was so pleasant and colorful and the songs were fantastic. The magician was a nasty scoundrel, but the rest of the film is perfect. I give it four stars out of four."

Natsuki replied, "Hold on. It was a cute little film, but four stars seems like an extremely high rating for this film. The film has some sweet moments, but the plot is a little bland and the pop songs were bothersome. Also, there were some scenes that weren't edited properly."

Shizuru asked, "Who cares about the editing? It's a film for kids, not an essay on proper filmmaking."

Natsuki decided to stop recording. She faced Shizuru and said, "I love you with all of my heart, but I don't think that you and I can be film reviewers. I had to stop recording before we got an argument over an animated kitten film."

Shizuru replied, "It's okay. Siskel and Ebert often disagreed on films."

Natsuki said, "Yes, but they were experts on discussing their different philosophies and feelings on films. We've never had a real argument before so it would be pathetic if having different opinions on films is what made us fight."

Shizuru thought about it and replied, "Good point. It seems like I messed up by suggesting that we become film reviewers."

Natsuki put her arm around Shizuru and said, "You always have sweet ideas. Not all of them work out, but they all have good intentions so I try to respect and go along with your plans."

Shizuru smiled and replied, "Thank you darling. If rating people was a thing I'd give you four out of four."

Natsuki giggled and said, "I'd give you two thumbs up."

Shizuru replied, "I guess we won't have a job together."

Natsuki said, "That's for the best. I would fail to work as well as I should if we worked at the same place, because your kind and beautiful heart would distract me."

Shizuru replied, "That's flattering to hear. When we went to high school together my love for you often distracted me from getting my Student Council work done."

Natsuki smiled at Shizuru and said, "We won't be able to have the same jobs, but we'll make time to see each other more. My time with you is always the most pleasant and wonderful time of the week for me."

Shizuru replied, "I feel the same way darling. We're bad film reviewers, but super adorable girlfriends." Natsuki blushed again. Shizuru jokingly asked, "Are you going to blush every time that I give you a compliment?"

Natsuki shrugged her shoulders and said, "Your sweetness is overkill."

Shizuru replied, "Overly sweet sounds like the best."

Natsuki and Shizuru kept seeing films regularly. They shared their opinions on films with each other, but avoided doing reviews on them. They had separate jobs, but they shared their kindness and love with each other. Natsuki and Shizuru worked alone, but the love they had for each other was always a thing they shared together in their hearts.
