I. Arthur and Molly

22 November 1980

In the middle of dinner on her tenth wedding anniversary, Molly suddenly burst into tears and hurried away from the room.

Stunned, Arthur immediately fed nine-month-old Ron another spoonful of mashed potatoes, ordered Fred and George back into their chairs, muttered a hasty apology to his other three sons, and traced Molly's footsteps up the staircase.

He found her sitting on their bed, dabbing her eyes with an old handkerchief. Nervously, Arthur lowered himself down beside her.

There were several long moments of silence.

Then— "Arthur, I…I think I'm pregnant again."

It was the best anniversary present he ever received.

II. Lucius and Narcissa

27 December 1985

Lucius drummed his fingers on his desk. It was nearly midnight, and he had yet to finish writing thirty-six donations to the Ministry of Magic. He frowned down at the paperwork before him, vision blurring.

Suddenly, the door to his study swung open, and Narcissa glided inside, bearing two glasses of elf-made wine.

Lucius looked up, surprised. "Narcissa?"

Narcissa set the wineglasses down and took a seat opposite her husband. "Let me help you with this, Lucius."

Lucius sighed. "Narcissa, you don't have to—"

"I want to," Narcissa interjected firmly. She smiled tiredly, taking his hands. "Happy anniversary, darling."

III. William and Fleur

1 August 2007

For their tenth anniversary, Bill promised Fleur a trip to Greece.

What he hadn't counted on was for Victoire, Dominique, and Louis to come down with raging fevers, the morning he and Fleur were to depart.

"Bill?" Fleur asked worriedly; he had been unusually quiet all day. "Are you all right?"

Bill looked at her. "I'm sorry," he said quietly. "I'm sorry that…between the war, and…everything that came afterwards…I never gave you your honeymoon. I wanted this to be special—" he broke off.

Fleur had kissed him.

"Every day with you eez special, chéri," she whispered in his ear.

IV. Harry and Ginevra

24 June 2010

After a scrumptious dinner at the Burrow with Molly and Arthur, and several hours of getting the children into bed, Harry decided that there was nothing more he wanted to do on the evening of his tenth anniversary than spend it with his wife.

So, Ginny produced a bottle of Firewhisky and two glasses, and together, they sat on the patio of Chez Potter…laughing, until they couldn't remember why they were laughing…talking, until they had nothing more to say…

In the end, Harry turned to Ginny and told her the one thing he was always sure of.

"I love you."

V. Percy and Audrey

22 September 2011

"Can you remind me again why we're spending our anniversary at your brother's house?" Percy asked in a disgruntled tone.

"Perce, he's throwing a party for us," Audrey sighed, reaching forward to adjust his tie. "Is it so hard for you and Zacharias to get along for one evening?"

Percy crossed his arms, scowling at his feet.

"Please?" Audrey whispered, placing her palms on his chest.

Finally, Percy looked at her, feeling his resolve melt the moment their eyes met. "Fine," he muttered. "But don't expect me to be too chummy with him," he warned.

Audrey rolled her eyes, half-smiling.

VI. Draco and Astoria

15 December 2012

Malfoy Manor was crawling with people. Draco sighed, rubbing his eyes. Of course his parents would go overboard in planning what Draco had arranged to be a modest celebration.

He didn't know half of the people in his own sitting room.

Later that evening, Draco found Astoria sitting in their bedroom, a harassed expression on her face. "I love your parents, Draco," she said tiredly. "But I…I didn't want—"

"Neither did I," Draco assured her. He paused. "Do you think they'd notice if we left?"

Astoria stared at him. Then, her lips twitched into a mischievous grin. "Let's go."

VII. Neville and Hannah

30 May 2014

Neville spent his tenth wedding anniversary in the Leaky Cauldron with Hannah, helping her take orders and waiting on customers. It was a tiring schedule, certainly, but Neville enjoyed every minute of it.

He would always rather spend his Fridays with his wife than with his students' essays.

At the end of the night, Neville found himself leaning against the pub's kitchen wall, utterly exhausted. Two warm arms immediately wrapped around him.

"Thanks for being here today," Hannah said gratefully, her voice muffled against his shoulder.

Neville smiled.

"Happy anniversary, Han," he said softly, kissing the top of her head.

VIII. George and Angelina

21 August 2014

George jumped, looking up, as Angelina stormed into their flat. "Ange?" he called. "What—?"

Angelina swiveled around, shaking with anger. "I hate Bennett," she hissed. "She's gone and lost the diamond earrings I lent her!"

"Ange—"

"My mother left me those earrings, George!" Angelina snarled.

"Angelina—"

"So I told Cerys Bennett that she was the most unethical, disorganized boss in the entire Ministry of—" Angelina broke off, gasping.

George was holding up a tiny violet box.

"I think Cerys forgot she sent them by owl post this morning," George explained, barely restraining his laughter. "Happy anniversary."

IX. Ronald and Hermione

2 January 2015

Ron recoiled under his wife's furious glare.

"One would think," Hermione snapped, glowering at her husband and brandishing her wand; red sparks sprung from the tip, "that having served as an Auror for eight years and having co-owned a lucrative business for nine, doing the laundry wouldn't be such a chore!"

"C'mon, Hermione," Ron groaned, though eyeing her wand warily, nonetheless. "I promise you, I'll wash the clothes tomorrow. Besides," he added slyly, snaking an arm around her waist and tugging her forward. "There are other things I'd rather do on my anniversary than the laundry."

Hermione spluttered, blushing furiously.

X. Rolf and Luna

21 May 2021

Rolf and Luna's tenth wedding anniversary happened to fall on one of Luna's infamous fishing expeditions to the stream near Bottom Bridge. In an unprecedented fit of gallantry, Rolf offered to accompany her—despite his hatred for Freshwater Plimpies.

He regretted the decision almost immediately. Not two minutes into the outing, Rolf managed to slip on the rocky riverbed and fall, headlong, into the water.

He came to, several moments later, and found himself staring into Luna's beautifully anxious gray-eyed gaze.

"Damn it—I smell like Plimpies," he mumbled, sitting up and shaking out his sopping hair.

Luna's eyes twinkled.

Author's Note:

Yay! New story! Gosh, I really struggled with this one. I'm in the middle of studying for three exams right now. Heh. Anyway, this is a one-shot for MissDominiqueLysander and BlueEyes444's "10 Pairings" Challenge. Basically, I'm allotted ten pairings and I have to write a story about them.
