Healing Coldness

Elsa was listening to her parents talking outside the door. She had it ajar although not enough to be caught.

"I just hope she makes it, she is really ill and her fever is rising, I don't even know how to cool her down," her mother whispered.

"Just make it ride for now, she will be fine, the sooner it raises, the sooner she will get better," her father said calmly.

"I am just so worried," he mother whispered, as they continued down the hallway.

Young Elsa carefully got out of her room, and walked down the hallway to see her sister. She hadn't played with her since the terrible accident a couple of years back. They still saw each other though during meal times and on social gaterings where both had to be present.

Elsa knocked before entering, seeing her sister in bed. Her eyes didn't even open upon her entering. She walked closer, dignified and regal. Once beside her she saw she was not sleeping peacefully, and that small drops of sweat was running over her forehead. Elsa felt her forehad and withdraw her hand fast, she was truly burning up.

"Anna," she whispered, a tear running down her cheek, she couldn't afford to loose her.

"Elsa," she murmured. In her sleep she recognized her sister's voice, still she couldn't bring herself to wake.

"I am right here," she whispered, freezing the door shut so they would not be disturbed. Carefully to not harm her, she used her icy powers to try to cool her sister down. She stroked her gently, whispering about snowmen and snow castles, about Christmas, about how she missed playing with her. Tears in Elsa's cold, blue eyes as he continued to talk, she needed her to live.

Anna seemed to sleep calmer by her voice, a smile slowly appeared on her red lips. Elsa smiled too, carefully watching over her. She was so beautiful, so at peace. Much unlike how she usually was, as Elsa had always been the calm one.

Elsa didn't know how long she had been sitting there until nightfall broke and someone was banging on the door. She removed the ice from the look and hid in the closet. It was the doctor that had come to check on her sister.

He looked at the king and queen saying, "Her fever seems to have gone down, it is going the right way."

Elsa's parents hugged each other and smiled. It had to be a miracle they figured. As they left Elsa used her powers to build a small snowman by the bed whispering, "I am Olaf and I like warm hugs."

Her sister's smile grew wider even thought she was still asleep. Elsa smiled as she pressed a kiss to her forehead whispering, "I love you Anna, you will be okay."

"Love Elsa," she whispered, her voice far away. Elsa smiled as she left the room. She had helped her sister heal she knew, but she also knew she could not tell anyone. Instead she walked back to her room and closed the door, glad Anna was still alive and would be for years to come. She knew for a fact she couldn't live without her.

Early morning young Anna woke and looked at the snowman. She could only remember bits and pieces of what seemed like a dream, but she knew one thing for sure. Elsa had been there and she still loved her. She smiled whispering, "Hi, Olaf."

Of course the snowman didn't reply, although it seemed like he was smiling back at her.
