As Miguel walked across the park he noticed Kay's light was on. He glanced
at his watch. He wasn't due at the lobster shack for his date with Charity
for another half hour so he might get to have sometime to himself with Kay,
but then again he could run into Charity at the Bennett's. He decided to
stop in on Kay before heading to the lobster shack anyway.
"Miguel!" Kay exclaimed, obviously shocked to see her former closest friend at her door. "Charity is out. I don't know where." She mumbled turning back to her English literature text. If Miguel had noticed how stressed she was he wasn't showing it. "So," Miguel said walking up to the oak desk Kay was working at, running his fingers over the wood hoping for some inspiration of what to say. "What are you working on?" he asked. "It's Oedipus the King by Sophocles. I have a big test on it tomorrow and I only just finished the book tonight!" she told him, surprised she was opening up so easily to him. " Ah, Oedipus" Miguel muttered, turning the book over in his hands. "We did this first term, I did Okay." "Well aren't you lucky!" Kay snapped, surprising herself with her anger. "I'm sorry. I'm having a rough night." Kay thought back to earlier this evening.
KNOCK KNOCK. "Hi Kay, open up its mum and Charity" Kay rolled her eyes but before she could get up her mum had already let herself in with Charity. "Kay? Charity needs something to wear, what about that new dress you got? I'm sure Miguel will love it on Charity!" Her mum left Kay standing with her mouth open with shock and rage while Charity sifted through Kay's cupboards smiling sweetly with a twinkle in her eye.
Miguel brought Kay back to reality. "Well I better brew us a pot of coffee" Miguel announced. "It looks like its going to be a long night."
Charity was searching everywhere for Miguel. Where could he be? She thought angrily. He better be lying in a hospital bed right now because that's the only good excuse he could have for standing me up! Then Charity realised Aunt Grace was coming her way. Time for the sweet little Charity voice again, she grimaced stifling a laugh as Grace approached.
"Aunt Grace! Im so glad to see you! Do you know where Miguel is? Im ever so worried he didn't turn up for our date at the lobster shack."
Miguel once more closed his mouth around Kay's. This was certainly not what he expected to happen on this originally innocent study sessions but in the past few months Miguel had been getting sick of sweet Charity and Kay had looked so damn intoxicatingly sexy. She was only wearing some snug fitting jeans and a tank top but she still looked 10 times better than Charity could ever look.
