This is one of the many oneshots form my iPod, and is also going to be stamped on each story that is one!

Guardian Angel

Shadow sighed and sat on the ledge of the building, one leg propped up with his arms resting on it and the other hanging loosely over the edge. His thoughts wandered freely as his eyes watched the city below. It was night, and the moon could not be seen because of so called "light pollution."

Shadow did not see it as pollution, since the city was so beautifully lit and seemed to twinkle like the stars. It was as if it had sucked all the stars out of the sky and spread it out over the area.

It was breathtaking.

Shadow sighed, his crimson eyes glazed over. "I wish you could see this Maria..." he muttered to himself. A breeze played with his quills and made him shiver from the cold. He stood back up slowly and carefully so he would not lose his balance and went down the fire-escape. His hand trailed down the rail, using it as a guide and support. Shadow's hover shoes scraped noisily on the cement, but he knew that turning them on would end catastraphically.

He pushed open the door and joined with the rush of endless Mobians. Shadow waited at the crosswalk, his mind wandering slightly. The sign went green and he started across the street. He heard the sound of a screech and looked around wildly, then saw lights getting close. Too close. He felt, something tug him back. He stumbled backwards; his foot barely clearing as the truck barreled right through where he was.

His eyes widened in shock, and he looked behind him to see no one. He looked to the sky, closed his eyes, and thanked whoever saved him. He crossed the road and continued on.

"I am always watching you Shadow. Like a Guardian Angel." a young girl's voice whispered, before dissapearing from that realm until needed next.
