Negi's head was aching like hell. His vision was blurry as hell and he could hardly make anything out.

"Where am I....?" He groaned as he tried to stand up, but only managing to fall onto his butt. "Asuna-san? Setsuna-san? Everyone?" He called out, but no answer.

'That magic spell... It must've sent me to another world or something...' Negi thought as he began to cast a healing spell on himself. Soon, he could see clearly and saw that he was in the square of Tokyo. "I'm in Tokyo, but where is everyone?" Negi thought outloud.

Suddenly, Negi felt a strong presence behind him and he turned around to face a Jack Frost. "HEE-HO!" It cried out. "AAAH!" Negi screamed and fell back on his keister. "W-w-who are you?!" He stuttered out, gaping at the mysterious creature.

"I'm Snowflake, but you can call me Flake!" The Jack Frost smiled at him. It looked like a Shy Guy with a mouth; fangs sticking out. Instead of a blue hat and scarf, it was wearing a pink hat and scarf. "You must be new around here."

"B-but what are you doing here?" Negi asked. "I live here, silly! This city is home to every demon around! And it's rare to see a human in this place!" The Jack Frost extended its- or rather- her hand to the bespectaled boy mage.

"I almost forgot, what's your name?" Snowflake asked him. "Negi Springfield, I'm a teacher at Mahora Academy, and- OH MY GOODNESS! I HAVE TO GO BACK! MY STUDENTS ARE IN DANGER!" Negi panicked. "Mahora Academy? I don't remember there being a Mahora Academy..." Snowflake scratched her head.

Negi shook his head and ran past the small ice spirit. "HEY, WAIT! IT'S DANGEROUS OUT THERE! THERE'S BAD DEMONS LURKING AROUND!" But the mini mage didn't bother to listen to her as he ran off. Snowflake ran after the chibi mage.

Negi panted as he stopped nearby a vending machine and sighed. "I'll never make it at this rate... There's got to be some kind of transportation around here..." He looked around the streets for signs of life. Suddenly, Negi felt another presence, and it was NOT a friendly one.

A horrible noise split the air around the young mage and he turned around to see a hideous demon with a head of a man, a body and tail of a lion, and the feet of an eagle. "A Manticore...!" Negi shivered in fear as the strange creature began to approach him with malice in its eyes.

"GET AWAY FROM TAMANEGI!" Snowflake shouted as she fired an ice spell at the Manticore. Negi turned around to see the female Jack Frost behind him. "Flake!" He gasped out. "Hurry, Negi! I can't hold him off much longer! Run!" Negi got to his feet and hid behind an old car.

Snowflake rushed towards the Manticore and struck it in the face, but that only irritated the manticore and it swatted her across the street. "UGH!" She cried out. "FLAKE!" Negi shouted out in horror. His new friend was going to be killed, all because he wanted to go back to his world... 'I won't abandon my students, but I can't leave Flake here to die either...'

Negi gripped his staff and began to cast a spell. The Manticore snarled and lunged at the duo. "ARROWS OF LIGHT!" Negi fired off a volley of lightening bolts and it crashed into the Manticore, sending him into the ground. The beast roared in pain before rising up and running away.

"Wow... I never knew you were that strong, hee-ho..." Snowflake smiled as Negi helped her up. "I would be honored to be your minion." "But I don't want you to be my minion!" Negi protested. "All I want is to go back to my world..." Flake smiled and held his hand. "Then I'll help you, hee-ho! We'll be partners then!"

"I-I... thank you, Flake..." Negi smiled as the duo began to leave the area; not realizing they embarked upon a quest of a lifetime...
