Author's Notes
This was inspired by "Shikabane no Odori", by Kikuo. I'm... relatively certain that Tadashi literally charging to his death would give Hiro nightmares.

Hiro Hamada sees carcasses in his sleep.

Dancing around him in a circle, their stiff joints burnt black and creaking with the steps of their eternal dance, beckoning in hollow voices to join them.

Their faces look familiar. Their shapes look familiar.

Whenever Hiro realizes this in his sleep, he bolts upright, crying out in fear and pain. This, of course, awakens Baymax, who soothes him and makes the rest of Hiro's dreams harmless.

But even during the daytime, the carcasses are everywhere. Leering behind every tree, cackling around every corner.

And especially around the new exposition hall at SFIT.

Hiro stays as far away as he can from the exposition hall- ever since the fire he's been haunted by the sight of the carcasses dancing their dance around it.

One night, Hiro realizes it in full.

They all have Tadashi's face.

Tadashi.

They're all Tadashi. Tadashi's corpse, charred black by hungry flames. They're inviting Hiro to join Tadashi in death.

And the worst part is, Hiro almost wants to. He wants to become a carcass, and dance with Tadashi for eternity.

How did that song go? By that band, Greek Fire?

"I'm dying on top of the world".

If Hiro were to die, sometimes, he thinks in the dead of night, he really would die on top of the world, because in death, he'd have Tadashi with him. He would be a carcass, and dance with his big brother.

Of course, Hiro doesn't dare tell his friends, or Baymax, or Aunt Cass, about any of it. He can't imagine what they'd say, and he hates thinking about the looks they'd give him, full of pity and shock and worry.

So he keeps quiet. He doesn't tell anyone about the carcasses. Doesn't tell anyone about Tadashi. Doesn't tell anyone.

And so, Hiro Hamada continues to see carcasses in his sleep, dancing, beckoning.
