Last night my mejor amiga (best friend in Spanish. I'm a little bit obsessed with Spanish right now.) Was over at my house and I wrote about half a chapter of her fanfic for her, and I made this reference to Alice painting Edward's room, and I kept wondering what would happen, so this is a one-shot about that. (Jocks and Preps chapter 9, by EdwardLover1, just in case you were wondering.)

"Alice, I don't think this is a good idea." I muttered, looking at the walls she was attacking with paint.

"Oh, Bella, don't be a stick in the mud. Who even puts carpet on the walls?"

"Edward. I really don't think he's going to like this." I told her, shaking my head.

"Bella." She said, turning to me with her hands on her hips, "Do you want me to fix it or not?"

"I don't think my opinion carries much weight when you're around, does it?"

Alice smiled, "Not with decorating."

She went back to the blue stripe she was painting. I reached for my cell phone so I could warn him, but Alice turned around and snatched it out of my hand.

"Alice!"

"I'm surprising him. It's his birthday."

"You guys don't celebrate birthdays." I pointed out.

"We celebrated yours. Admittedly, that was a little bit of a disaster, but I think this'll be better."

"Does he know that his birthday is being celebrated?"

"Oh, no. I just thought of it, about an hour ago. He'll get back from hunting and see his room. It's finished. What do you think?"

"Um…" I said, looking around at the red, green, blue, and gold striped across the room, "It's…unique."

"I like it too." Alice said, sitting next to me on the bed.

"I didn't say that-" I said, as the door opened.

"Hi Edward." Alice chirped.

He looked around the room, his eyes widening in horror.

"Alice." He growled.

"Hey, your fiancée was here the whole time, just watching me. It's equally her fault."

"You took my phone! I was trying to warn him."

"Oh, Alice, you are so dead." He muttered, touching the still-wet paint on one of the walls.

"Technically, I can't die." Alice said, sounding a little nervous.

"I would run now." I whispered to her.

She bolted out of the room. Edward, still dazed, sat next to me.

"Bella." He said after a couple minutes.

"Yes?" I squeaked.

"Get in my car. We're going to Home Depot."

"What for?"

"Paint and wood."

"What's the wood for?" I asked.

"I'm nailing Alice into her room. Forever."
