Prologue:
It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen. All dressed in white, going to the church that night. She felt like she was the happiest girl alive, marrying her prince charming. She got in her car with a horrible feeling in her gut.
When
the church doors opened up wide, she put her veil down, trying to
hide the tears. She just couldn't believe it. She heard trumpets from
the military band and the flowers fell out of her hand.
The
preacher man said let us bow our heads and pray. Lord please lift his
soul, and heal this hurt. Then the congregation all stood up and sang
the saddest song that she ever heard. Then they handed her a folded
up flag and she held on to all she had left of him. Then the guns
rang one last shot and it felt like a bullet in her heart. It felt
like she was looking from the distance or standing the background.
Everybody was saying… he's not coming home now. She ran from that
dreaded place. She had no idea where she was going she just ran.
Finally all the energy was lost, she collapsed on her knees. She
looked around and found that she ran to their meadow.
"Baby, why did you leave me?" She covered her face in her hands, tears running down her face.
"Why did you have to go? I was counting on forever, now I will never know."
She looked down at her beautiful wedding dress that she picked out with her best friend and supposed to be sister-in-law, Alice. It was all wet; she looked up and noticed it had been raining. This is just a dream, she thought to herself. Just a dream.
A/n: Like it? Hate it? I promise this story has a happy ending.
