AN: Ok so I had the need to write this. Oneshot.

"You know, the thing that makes a fantasy great is the possibility that it might come true.
And when you lose that possibility - it just kind of sucks."

"Pregnant", the word echoed in her mind as soon as she heard it. She didn't know what to do and her brain just slipped instantly into survival mode.
She had to get out of here for now. She needed time, maybe an hour, a few minutes to process. As fast as she could she turned around and ran.
She ran. Away from him, away from his eyes that she could still see in front of her face. She didn't even have to close her eyes to envision his face. It was just there. Appeared and didn't want to leave her again.
She ignored him as he was screaming her name. Her feet carried her down the stairs and out of the building. She didn't know where she was running to but she didn't care either. She just kept on running.
Running in her dark boots that she regretted wearing for a moment. What would she give for her running shoes right now? She hadn't even registered that it was raining. Pouring more like.
Her heels started to burn from running because the position her feet were in was clearly not made for running. But she didn't stop. She kept on running.
It might hurt like hell but it was nothing compared to the words she had heard just moments ago.
"I can't", was what she heard him say in her mind, over and over again.
She could feel her eyes watering. Watering from the outside and inside.
She couldn't help it but then and there she was entirely being that young girl again that had kneeled next to the lifeless body of her lover not knowing what to do.
She had come so far in all the years after. And she swore to herself that she would never go back to being that person again.
But all of that had changed when he had walked into her life. When the girl she had had buried beneath all her hatred and anger and protective mothermode finally reappeared on the surface. He had given her hope and now, now, now what?
She wasn't slowing down but overthinking. Her mind and body kept on running. Faster.
He seemed so different from the man she knew.
She had felt that that hug they shared meant so much but what happenend after was so not him.
"I choose you"
And she knew that back then he had meant it.
"I can't"
That was new. That wasn't the man she used to know.
She didn't know what to do but she knew as well that she didn't give him a chance to say something.
There was a part of her debating if he deserved that chance or not.
Then again she had to know and besides could it be any worse than this?
She hadn't realised that she must have been running in circles but there she was again. In front of the building that had just taken her hope away.
She could see him outside of it. He was calling her name but hadn't seen her yet. The weather was giving her that advantage at least.
She stopped running and took a few deep breaths. She couldn't let her guard down in front of anyone. Especially not him. Not yet at least.
She had to make it a few more minutes.
That's when he spotted her and came running towards her, "REGINA!"
She didn't say anything. She just stood there. Waiting. Waiting for what was about to come next.
