Like A Boy

Chapter 1: Prologue
As most of our "Witch Weekly" readers will know, Hogwarts School of Wizardry is renowned far and wide for its talented Quidditch team, the Hogwarts Hellhounds.
In an interview with Mr. Oliver Wood, the team's delectably handsome captain, we learned a shocking bit of news. Hogwarts' star seeker, Mr. Draco Malfoy, has
inexplicably decided to resign from the team, causing many to wonder if this will cause the Hellhounds to be forced to forfeit the games… as well as the championship
at the Quidditch cup next year. His resignation is rumored to be due to the large amount of pressure placed on the 17-year-old's shoulders to win – or lose it all.
Mr. Malfoy himself would not comment on the subject.
This was the article that changed Hermione Granger's life forever. She was far from being Draco Malfoy's biggest fan – nor did she gush over his handsome
face like most of the girls she went to school with. But she was fascinated by how he played Quidditch. He was one of those Quidditch players who could
get on a broom and you'd never know it wasn't just another part of their body. He flew like a dream and you could tell he loved it.
She flipped the page to look at a tear-out poster of Draco zipping through the air, a tiny golden snitch clasped in his fist. His face split into a wide grin and
his eyes sparkled as he touched down to the ground to be surrounded by cheering fans.
Sighing, Hermione closed the magazine. And now he was going to quit just because he was under pressure. She tossed the glossy nuisance to the ground
and pushed herself off of her bed. How could he just quit? He was a Quidditch legend. And he was going to throw it all away. "If I could," she mumbled, "I
would go there myself and convince him to stay on the team."
It was a good idea in theory. But it was an all boys' school. They wouldn't let some random girl in just so she could talk to one of them. Besides, she would
need lots of time to persuade a person as stubborn as he seemed to be. If only she were a boy… then she could transfer easily.
Hermione frowned at herself in the full-length mirror beside her bed. If only she were a boy….
