Pedestrian. N. A person who gets about on foot.
The lifts were closed. Maintenance duty, or some such nonsense, and Percy Weasley was extremely displeased. A fine start to what was shaping up to be a dreadful day.
His flat had become infested with pixies—having escaped from his neighbors cage (the irresponsible dunderhead!)—and so he had woken up that morning to the not-so-dulcet tones of his mother shouting at his father over some matter or another. His mother, additionally, didn't approve of coffee, and so Percy found himself woefully unprepared for the hardships of the day, having only had a cup of weak chamomile tea for breakfast. Unacceptable. Now, arriving at the Ministry for some semblance of sanity, Percy was denied. Maintenance indeed!
Percy sighed to himself—making the internal vow to seek out coffee at the nearest opportunity in an attempt to correct these terrible circumstances—and made for the stairway. Being jostled to-and-fro and nearly knocked from a considerable height was not one of Percy's favorite pastimes, and so he was, understandably, a bit miffed as he entered his office.
Seeing his inbox overflowing with work requests and questionable 'samples,' he heaved a frustrated sigh and set to work. A third of the way through the pile and precisely two hours and thirteen minutes later, a knock sounded at the door.
"Oi, Percy! You in there?"A brown head of hair popped through the gap provided by the opening door, and Percy felt the tension in his neck start to fade.
Oliver grinned at his state. "Busy day, eh? C'mon then, we've got lunch plans—you can tell me all about it."
A quick glance at his desk showed that he was in no shape to be prancing off to a leisurely lunch, but Oliver would book no complaints. Tugging gently on Percy's arm, he led him from the office and toward the stairs.
"None of that, Perce. We had a deal remember? Now to lunch!"
Percy nodded with a small smile beginning to curl up the corners of his lips. He didn't have the time, but perhaps...
"Hey, I've got an idea! You could use the extra time to relax- how 'bout we walk there?"
