A/N Ehehehehehe! I have finally entered the realm of Thor fanfiction :)

Did anyone else notice how close Loki came to being emotional in the Ragnarok elevator? He was so surprised by Thor's response, and he seemed sad that Thor had grown to no longer need him. I'm nervously excited to see where this new dynamic will lead in Infinity War!

Thor's agreement stunned Loki. That was not what he had expected. He hadn't known Thor was going to be so … mature.

"Loki, I thought the world of you. I thought we were gonna fight side by side forever, but at the end of the day, you're you and I'm me."

He was confused at first. Throughout the whole New York debacle and even to his "death", Thor had implicitly trusted some innate goodness that he still believed Loki possessed. But now, he seemed to no longer want to find his lost little brother.

Though, now that he thought about it, Loki was not surprised. How many times can you lie to even the most gullible person before they don't fall for it again? When Loki had exiled Odin and taken his throne, how did he think Thor was going to react? Glad that his brother had returned? No. Thor was seeming to accept that Loki would try to find the most powerful position he could. He was refusing to let Loki keep stringing him along. No more maybes.

There was still some part of Loki's soul that rebelled at this thought.

But he tamped it down. He was done playing with fire. He would no longer expect Thor to trust him. Loki would have to live life on his own; for himself.

He had finally pushed the last person away.
